The Monitor/TV fires up fine and has an excellent picture. After a minute or so there's a hissing/crackling sound coming from the back of the unit near the power switch. Anyone with a quick word of advice what I should look at once I take this thing apart? This year aolne I've repaired over 50 LCD Monitors and a dozen or so motherboards with strong advice and experience featured in your forums.

Burn marks - fuse loose in holder- switch it on with the back off should give a better idea.

I removed the back cover and I've had this on now for over 10 minutes with no sign of the previous hissing/crackling sound. The only other thing I did was remove a piece of Nylon tape covered by a piece of Aluminum tape from over the inverter board since that's where the sound appeared to be coming from. The bottom side of the nylon tape has brown spots, some with white marks in the center and cracks in the dried glue on the tape over where the high voltage transformers on the inverter board are located. Is it possible the the transformers were arcing or cooking the dried glue on the bottom of the tape? Is it safe to run this monitor/tv without the tape over the inverter board or is there another option I can install that won't create the same problem?Comment

I would check for poor connections in the inverter section around the transformers, and f.e.t's

It's been running now for 5 and 1/2 hours with none of the sounds it exhibited before and the picture remains perfect. I'm going to try using a piece of Mylar Film over the connectors and transformer, taped down further away from the heat source.Comment

Sounds like the tape\glue may have gone conductive."Tantalum for the brave, Solid Aluminium for the wise, Wet Electrolytic for the adventurous"

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol! 
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing... -
Hello, TV has a cracking sound from the speakers, sound from the headphone jack is ok.
with new speakers the sound is just as bad.

Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.
This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).
I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but... -
Hey there, maybe someone can shine some light here.
I have a Nintendo Switch that doesn't power on. When I press and hold the power button I hear a crackling, fast ticking electric-like sound. Does anyone have a idea of what it could be?
I have disconnected everything that I can. Done some measurements, reading 17,2 Ohm as lowest on the CPU caps.
I would highly appreciate your thoughts.
