Re: I-Inc IF281D Hissing/crackling sound
It's been running now for 5 and 1/2 hours with none of the sounds it exhibited before and the picture remains perfect. I'm going to try using a piece of Mylar Film over the connectors and transformer, taped down further away from the heat source.

Re: I-Inc IF281D Hissing/crackling sound
I removed the back cover and I've had this on now for over 10 minutes with no sign of the previous hissing/crackling sound. The only other thing I did was remove a piece of Nylon tape covered by a piece of Aluminum tape from over the inverter board since that's where the sound appeared to be coming from. The bottom side of the nylon tape has brown spots, some with white marks in the center and cracks in the dried glue on the tape over where the high voltage transformers on the inverter board are located. Is it possible the the transformers...

I-Inc IF281D Hissing/crackling sound
The Monitor/TV fires up fine and has an excellent picture. After a minute or so there's a hissing/crackling sound coming from the back of the unit near the power switch. Anyone with a quick word of advice what I should look at once I take this thing apart? This year aolne I've repaired over 50 LCD Monitors and a dozen or so motherboards with strong advice and experience featured in your forums.

Re: Viewsonic VX910
Hi all, I'm having the same issue as AJ above on a VX910. I replaced all the Crapxons ( I repaired one of these last week ) except the large one. I also replaced the Polypropylene cap in the pics shown previously. I also found a bad solder joint in one of the small blue ceramic caps and The monitor's green light comes on and every two seconds there's a light flicker at the bottom of the screen. I measured the resistance on the small surface mount transistors on the bottom side of the board. The top of my board in this area looks like it was cooked in an oven....

Re: Viewsonic VX910
The part # for the Polypropylene cap at DigiKey is P14242-ND, I just ordered 1 to replace a bad one on the same board. It had actually lead a molasses like matter from it. I replaced all the CrpXon's as well and I'm about to start meter reading.

Re: VX910 Backlight Inverter Issue
I'm guessing I must have a similar issue. I replaced all of the Crapxons and the Polypropylene Cap near Transformer T1 ( it was buldged with a reddish brown material leaking out of it ), and the unit powers on and blinks and I can see a screen view in the background but it doesn't stay on. I have the MBR10100CT transistor that appears to be in the area where the board looks cooked. I'll compare the readings.

I'll try tomorrow and let you know how it works out.

Re: List of Bad Cap Manufacturers
I have a couple of HP 17" LCD's that had some dark spots ( bad pixels ) that had good boards I used to fix other Dell LCD's. I'm thinking of recapping them to have as spare since I see a lot of these. The first board is a BenQ with 19 caps, 16 Elite ( 2 obviously bad ) and 3 Lelon. The second is a really f snazzy board with the display driver circuitry on the same board as the PS with a large Genesis chip. It has 3 OST caps ( 2 obviously bulging and 14 Su'scon all of which appear okay. Should I replace all of the caps because they are susp...

Re: Li Shin Int'l LSE9901B1250
12v DC, 4.16 Amp, 50W are the specs. I'm not sure I can find a safe way to plug it in and test while it's our of the shell.

I managed to crack it open, and all the Caps look good visually, and shockingly are Rubycon.

That was my next question. How easy is it to open one of these up?

I have a Mag Innovision monitor that has the external AC adapter mentioned in the title which has gone bad. Is there any way to repair this or should I just purchase a replacement?

Re: Mag Innovision LT765B goes white
I'm thinking this could be the external AC adapter ( weren't a bunch of them manufactured with the defective CapXon caps ) and I was wondering if a replacement had been designed and offered?

Re: Mag Innovision LT765B goes white
It's white immediately, and stays white even when I turn off the power switch.

Mag Innovision LT765B goes white
The monitor displays a toatally white Screen. This version has an external ac adapter that one would think has the voltage inversion circuity inside. Any help is greatly appreciated.
