Dell 2407WFPb One vertical line on right side

    Hello,

I am wondering why I cant start a thread in the Dell 2407WFPb section but oh well. There isn't anything over there about this issue.

My Monitor has a line on the right hand side of the screen about 3 inches from the edge and its about a 16th or 32nd of an inch thick approx.

Does anyone know what causes this and how can I fix it?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Is there something I can change or do to make these lines disappear?

Dont you think the hannsg thread is long enough without having unrelated posts
I suggest you go in and edit it to say
      posted in error see
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38385

You might get more hits on here if you post a picture and say what you have tried?

A monitor is a monitor there must be other threads or online info /queries about vertical lines on panels - it often ends up it is just a faulty panel.
You dont say how the problem occurred Switched on and line appeared- strated as a few pixels and grew -I bought the set with this fault- etc.

As to no one is replying - we are all offering free info/advice when we think we can help
if no one knows then you may not get any response. I dont know I am just annoyed that you jumped the other thread.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Some pictures of the problem may be useful. However from the symptoms described and if the line always stays in the same spot all the time, then its very likely LCD panel issue (bonding tab problems)...

Nopes, if the problem is the LCD panel itself then its not going away anytime soon (and sometimes may get worse with more lines appearing in the future). Usually ordinary folks like us do not have the necessary (special) equipment to handle such problems...

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
          by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

KD-55X9005A Vertical Stripes Right Side Mirrored Vertically At Start
          by kevinman
Hi, TV boots with distorted image right side mirrored verticaly sometimes vertical stripes making off-on turns picture to normal and "perfect" (netflix image) that I highly doubt this is something related with t-con signal lines?? rather it looks software corruption bad mem chips voltage collapse or an intantaneous fault with fluctuating powerboard voltages?? As it happens usually when TV is cold sometimes fault comes back after a full day use should I check powerboard voltages with oscilloscope??

Sharp LC19SB24U; red vertical line comes and goes
          by valvashon
Yes, this is a very old Sharp 19" but I would like to fix it if possible. As you can see from the attached picture there is a single red vertical line.
Yesterday when I turned the set on, it was there for about 30 minutes then disappeared and did not show up again (set was on for another 3 hours or so).
Today it was not there when I powered the set on, then appeared after about 15 minutes. Set has been on for about an hour and it's still there.
From what I have read I'm guessing that this might be the t-con board and not the display itself as it does come and go.
