Like the Samsungs, these come with either the highly adjustable stand, and also the small static one, I believe. Anyway I've seen it before. The actual stand is what has the pivot. I have no idea how the monitor knows it's pivoted, but it seems to.

For future reference for those with this issue since this seems to be a common failing HP monitor, I can confirm the OEM temp ratings are 125C.

Got one that had a white screen issue, replaced all the 1000uf caps with Nichons and the 680uf. Still white screen. Believe it to be a failed VR at U113 based on other threads here.

White screen can mean the T-CON is not getting the b+ to the T-CON or the T-CON has blown fuse or failed T-CON.
