Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
I think so, TV is at a friend's summer home. Hence, the once a year visit and resurrecting an old thread to help them from tossing an old TV. The only other PSU on SJ is this one and I don't think there is a similar diode except maybe D5707 located on the left side by the Zebra label here:

Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
based on another thread I found on some other forum for the 32" model which uses the same PSU, it seems like it would be 31DQ04-ND
Based on the discussion on this forum thread.

Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
As stated, D5705 in the middle bottom... actually left of the transformer, where it says 125V 7A I think........Last edited by hapollo; 07-14-2016, 05:54 PM.

Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
A year later, decided to revisit this one sitting in the closet. Can the equivalent snubber diode be identified from this PSU in the LC-42D62U which has exact same issue as the LC-32D43U.
It think it might be D5075 in the middle bottom to the right of the transformer....Last edited by hapollo; 07-14-2016, 01:12 PM.

Re: LG 42LE5400 Backlighting & power supply
Got the exact same model with the same problem. Black screen but white lights and LG logo light up when powered up. Just as you described it "(The fancy coloured lights beneath the panel come on and flicker in response to the remote control.)"
Sorry, not clear which solution solved your issue Did you just replace the rectifier D245 and it worked? Or was it the Mosfet Q241?
Did you find the rating of the D245 rectifier?...Last edited by hapollo; 07-14-2016, 11:45 AM.

Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
Budm, How did you know the rating of the diode in the beginning of the post from just the picture?
A LC-42D62U I picked up seems so have the same issue but the diode seems larger and this other post mentions a similar issue that was resolved with a new diode but Wizard hasn't posted in the forums since 2011 so I'm not sure the rating of the diode.

Re: samsung LN-T3253H no picture red standby light
Is the RM801 .22 ohm 1w FR one of these? Does it tolerance matter in this application? 1%, 2%, 5% ?

Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead
Yes, I believe he meant D7907. I followed this PDF posted on the net and got the TV working again after replacing just the diode.

Recently picked up a Sharp LC-42D62U which has same no power issue. Suspect it's a diode issue as well but diode in that area is a larger size. Need to figure out the diode rating and order from digikey.Re: Sharp LC-32D43U Dead<br /> <br ... posted on the...

Re: samsung LN-T3253H no picture red standby light
I just picked up one of these as well. Opened the TV to find the glue all dissolved on several parts as well. No exploded parts or scorch marks like jose6326 though.
Going to start with replacing resistor RM801 and capacitor CM810 as above and then take it from there.
So why do they put glue on so many parts on this particular board? I have not seen such issues on other Samsung boards aside from bulging inferior caps.
Do the glues serve a purpose when the soldered leads should be...

Re: Hanns-G HG281D, LCD Monitor no power
Thanks Lumberjack777, I don't have a ESR meter but have replaced many many caps on defective LCD TVs from the 2008 era, mostly Samsungs and typically those have been the larger 1000uf or 2200uf. Rarely have I had to replace anything less than 100uf.
These Hanns seem to be the reverse, mostly small <100uf fail and the larger ones seem ok. Having read your earlier post that it's always the same smaller ones and a waste of time and money to replace the larger ones:

Re: Hanns-G HG281D, LCD Monitor no power
Hi Lumberjack777,
I've got the same boards as BtB and same list of Caps to buy. Since I've got the ones that are "harder to repair." Should I just replace them all or are there a few suspect caps on these other versions?
BtB, did you manage to fix your Hanns by replacing all the caps listed?
Thanks!...

Re: HP W2207 What are the right caps?
For future reference for those with this issue since this seems to be a common failing HP monitor, I can confirm the OEM temp ratings are 125C.
Got one that had a white screen issue, replaced all the 1000uf caps with Nichons and the 680uf. Still white screen. Believe it to be a failed VR at U113 based on other threads here.

Re: HP W2207 no screen no power buzzing!
OP, was this ever resolved? I've got the same readings on U113 but wondering if you ever replaced it and got it back up & running.
