    2x W2243S both different faults

hi there guys got a problem with 2 of the same monitors, first monitor powers on fine, produces a picture but has some striped bands running down the screen, second is a power fault, test the 2 5v pins leading to the control board and they appear to be fine at 4.95 volts, the problem seems to be with the control board, may be a power fault as theres some caps n stuf on there too and no red led but if i keep pressing the power on button the red LED flashes slighly, its like its loosing power somewhere, any ideas ?

I assume both units are open ??therefore the first thing I would do is swap control Boards (ie logic Boards) over and see if that clears one of the faults, and then if you get one working fine, then you can sort the Screen problem out, by swapping Boards, Screen as necessary.

tried that already mate. the 2 power boards and control boards seem to be a little different with caps n stuff.. tried even swapping over the whole back part to the working screen and got backlights on and stuff but no picture.

The curse of Monitor Manufacturers !!! same Model number different inside ....BUT the Screens are inter changeable,so doing that may sort the Lines on Screen problem ??

I think you now have to take a different approach, and try iniitially to actually find out what is good out of the Monitors.
Firstly I would take both the Screens and test the Backlights,by using another good PSU of some description or a backlight tester etc etc and not connecting anything but the Backlights.
I would then Test the Power Supplies just with Mains on only.no logic etc,and check output voltages. If one of them is ok as per the voltages, then I would connect the tested Backlights you should have OR a good test set, apply an external 3v DC to the Backlight ON pins and see if the lamps work.
If you get to this stage then you are getting close to the real problem areas,as that only leaves the Logic Board and LVDS board and the internal cables.

Are the two LCD panels have the same brand and model number?
I think the one that power up OK but has lines on the screen more likely to have bad LCD panel. If the LCD panels of the two units are not the same, one may use different pinout and operating voltage (one may run on 12v, one may run on 5v, so you must be real careful when swapping the screens) for the T-CON board on the LCD panel assembly.
Even the same LCD panel model may have different revision and not compatible.

                  by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
                  C57: 3.30V

Trying to understand which properties of circuit affect triac phase range, is it possible to control near whole period, or it have some limitations - on net found a couple circuit, that claims almost full control, but in the past I build some simple circuit and remember that it do only half of control over triac?...

Pioneer VSX-522-K remote control not working???
                  by tmhobadcap
I have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.

At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked...

Sony HCD-HX80R Amplifier Volume Control Problem
                  by crackedprint
I have a strange fault on a Sony amplifier. The volume control varies the display from MIN, then 1 up to 30 and then MAX as expected. At MIN there is no sound. However, at 1 it is quite loud and increasing above 1 does not change the sound level.

I have tried a Cold Reset as per the service manual.

I have looked at the I2C clock and data to volume control chip IC501 (BD3499FV). Data is only sent to IC501 when the volume is set to MIN or 1. At any other setting no data is sent to IC501.

I have looked all the way through the service manual and tried many online...
