Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
ok i plugged everything together and re checked a few things.
the fuse (white thing close to board connector) is 18.9v on both sides . the connector on the power board now reads 18.9 volts on all the wires except brown
the missing voltage regulator number is 950T65
as per https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...7&d=1336881135 they both have the correct voltage.

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
Hmm Usb board - there are some monitors that will not work properly when this is not connected during testing but dont know if this is one of them. On that board there is a fuse -please check it and post result.
in pic 5 there are two voltage regulators in the bottom left corner One is a 952T43
- cant read the other one - at U5.
Please read this

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
I think Smason wanted the MAIN board ie the other one that we have no pics of.
As you have posted these there are a few soldering joints I would like you to
check and possible resolder. In addition to the one in the picture there is
D701 in another pic.
EDIT also reflow all the jopints on the transformer T601 which straddles the black line.Last edited by selldoor; 01-22-2013, 12:00 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
When i tested the connector i put the black probe to the ground on the power board and also tested from the black connector wire. So i had the Power board and the Inverter board on my desk plugged in to the wall. (Maybe slightly dangerous)
Ive attached better photos of the power board.
ThanksLeave a comment:

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
I did some searching on other threads about this model, and according to most of the photos, there aren't any voltages marked on the connectors.
When you measured the voltages on the connector, was the other end plugged in to another board?
I did read where a couple of these monitors (one was Retiredcaps) had shorted voltage regulators on the main board. Might not be a bad idea to test those.
How about a good photo of the main pcb and we can help you test them.Leave a comment:

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
"Ok So the ohms test on the fuse is the same as holding the probes together.
Yes?"
Yes
zero voltage on either side of the fuse after it is plugged in. now i just plugged in those 2 boards if that makes difference, i don't have all the boards out of the metal case but i could do if that's what is needed.Leave a comment:

Yes?
Next then with the boards powered and connected set your meter on 200vDC
put the black probe on a ground screw or metal casing of a connector and with the red probe check the voltage on each side of the fuse.Leave a comment:

Re: Dell 2007wfpb power on problem
your right, its 1 when they aren't touching anything and zero when you touch them together, i put them on the fuse and it reads zero.Leave a comment:

I think1. may mean out of range - open - is that the same as it reads when the probes are not touching anything?Leave a comment:

Didnt notice before as I was looking for a white smd, there is a yellow torpedo fuse on the inverter board pic 2 - meter on ohms - test and post the result.Leave a comment:

No, on the connector that has the multi coloured wires that go to another board.
Looking for markings like 5v 12v etc.Leave a comment:

"Are there voltages marked on the connector on the power supply?"
so you mean the 250Volt marked in the attached picture by the fuse?
"If so, lets measure them each one referenced to ground. So meter on DCV whatever range is higher than the highest marked voltage, red on the voltage we're measuring, black on gnd."
red on the fuse ?
Check that you have put the caps in the right way round - what make did you use? Caps are on correctly G-Luxon is he makeLeave a comment:

OK, let's think this through a bit.
Are there voltages marked on the connector on the power supply?
If so, lets measure them each one referenced to ground. So meter on DCV whatever range is higher than the highest marked voltage, red on the voltage we're measuring, black on gnd.Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. ๐
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by Mark01Hi guys,
This is my first post! ๐
I have no idea what Iโm doing, but Iโm learning by trial and error.
Iโm currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490โone of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...07-04-2025, 12:54 PM -

Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has... -
by seppdeHello everyone,
I've recently gotten my hands on a defective XPS13 9380. I will attach a zip of the schematics and boardview.
My first discovery on the Board was that the reverse current Diode PD103 of the 1st USB-C was blown.
Nothing to worry about, the board got 3 USB-C ports which support Power/Charging. On I go.
Next I inspected the power-rails to see why the diode blew up and found a short on the 3V3 rail which I traced back to the Power-IC for the LCD (UZ2). I desoldered it and the very low-ohmic short is gone. I checked on the LCD-connector that there's no short... - Loading...
