Greetings and Happy New Year to all!

Thanks to these forums I was able to fix my failing aging monitor. Display would work when it wanted, had to do numorous reboots plug pulling just to get it to power on. input names were distorted...well after reading up and researching it was bad caps on the power board. I ordered a replacement kit on ebay turns out to be a fairly well known company..they provided everything I needed pretty much in the kit...well after replacing all but one very tiny cap (looks to be in fine shape) the monitor worked again. input names are readable and the monitor powers on just fine like day one.
As of yesturday the monitor stopped working. it powers on but after displaying the input name for just than under a second the screen goes black..power led stays green to show that it is powered on but there is no image as if the screen was powered off....not even a faint image as if the backlighting was going out... I am now at a lost and not sure what to do.
I already reopened the monitor and resoldered a questionable point. but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm ....

1. Some pics of the board top & bottom?

2. Should be a Delta DAC19M009 ?

3. Try a flashlight to see if faint desktop image can be seen ?

4. Check fuse F200 ?

5. Check if secondary voltages appears and is within range ?

6. Check mosfet U202 & U203 for shorts ?

4. Check fuse F200 ?

Thanks for the quick response I can reopen the monitor again and snap a few pics...not the greatest soldering job but it worked for about 2 weeks
step 2 I am no electriction so i have no clue about it being a Delta DAC19M009
I just tried the flashlight trick again this time using the led app from my phone and crap now i do the wallpaper i guess my other flashlight wasn't strong enough to show me the display.

not sure about these two steps....
like I said i am no electrictions but i know computer components very well

how would i be able to fix this backlighting issue?

Yes looking at the board now..this is true.

yes noticed this

Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Hopefully the pics are OK since I have to take them from my phone.
I am very new to this...I have soldered a few mod chips on consoles before, nothing pretty but they have alwayed function so on this end of tech i would consider myself pretty low and trying hard to learn how he inards work.

Is that small cap CE107 or something like 22uf 50v? It's a critical cap for starting up the power supply and you cannot determine whether a cap is good or not by looking at it. If you have another cap (that you know is good) lying around that you can substitute on temporary basis, then at least you have a good starting point.

22uf 50v is correct. it was the only one that I didn't replace and to be honest because of its size and placement, I was pretty intimidated by it. If this small cap can cause the backlighting to go out then i guess i can give it another shot...just hard trying to get the old solder off with the copper strip.

I suspect that cap also.

It is often easier to get the solder to melt by adding some leaded solder
to before trying to mop it up.

It can also help if you pre heat the area of the board you are working on with a hairdryer - so the heated is conducted away less quickly

thanks for all the advice ... I did as recommened and replaced the small cap...Problem now is that i think i screwed something up...i double checked all solder point again and everything appears to be OK. small cap looks to be in correctly as well, but now I get nothing just the power light. I get a few short flickers (no display of the input as it did in the past) and thats it just a black screen, and power button no longer functions.. not sure if i shorted something out or not.

Alpha, do you recall how the 4 wires go
in to the power supply?

I goofed and FORGOT to take a photo...

Also, did you solder the 22uf 50v cap, if so,
was it the small silver looking one?
