    Samsung 931BW no power

Hey guys, got this monitor for repair yesterday,

When plugged in there is no power, no led light, but if you
listen you could hear there is a problem whith the power suplly,

opend the case no caps are bulged, fuse ok, there is a shorted "big" diode
    SR310.

what else should i look for, before ordering a replacment,

i will upload pics later today, and i'll check all the caps anyway.

anyone know this power suplly, how to check voltages when open and disconnected from logic board.

    thanks,

Ok - waiting for the pictures thought it might be useful for checking voltages.
You normally need the logic board connected.

I find that these standard Diode types (DO-201),are used on quite a few different Psu/Inverter Boards, and tend to fail more than the one that is normally screwed to a heatsink.I suppose there are various reasons for this, but when i see them on a Board, they are always one of the main points of interest in the the fault finding procedure.

couldn't find the diode SR310, but i could find ct pr3002 or 1n54004
the thing is that there are 2 diodes in parallel the shorted one, and another one just like it which is good, if i would replace the shorted one with a substitue will it still be ok?

I always change both, as you do not know what caused the the failure, and the second one may well be weakened. But the choice is yours. The replacements need to be 'fast recovery' diodes, and if so and current etc is fine,(I have not checked your choice),then all should be fine.

i decided to buy the originals from ebay, 10 diodes for 5 dollars.

i will update as soon as i'll get the shipment.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                      by PantherDave
                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                      Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off
                      by Journey11
                      Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....
