    HP w2007 - Panel issue?

I took a look at a monitor that a friend of mine is looking at purchasing "used" and the following is what the screen looks like. I hope that the pictures show enough (I can take more if anyone cares to see). The monitor operates normally - power on / off, image shows, no "2 seconds to black", etc. The screen is "washed out" so to speak mostly on the left 2/3 of the screen but it's not completely "washed out." Does this appear more likely to be a panel issue or something else. He has not purchased it yet so I do not want to open it at this time.

The more and more that I look at it, it doesn't appear that the issue is on the OSD. At first, I thought it was, but now, I'm not so sure. Possibly another issue with a voltage regulator on the logic board?

How much does the seller want?

He's was going to buy the monitor and a drill for $60 so I don't really know how much the drill vs. the monitor is of that amount. After looking at the OSD with a computer attached, the "wash out" shows on the black part of the OSD also.

Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100 - BIOS Issue, Black Screen
          by wizard13
          Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.

I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HELP - Contrast/brightness issue with subtitles on screen
          by cloudy
          Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.

Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.

It occours both on ubuntu and windows...

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
          by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
          by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...
