Replacing CCFL tubes in double tube assys.

    Techs;
Has anyone have pictures/video of removing the tubes in double ccfl
assemblies ? Most of my repairs are inverters and unsoldering single lamp
assemblies is no problem. If I need a double ccfl tube assy. I usually have
    used ones from junkers.
Do must techs just buy these double tube assemblies to forego unsoldering/soldering new tubes?

    Thanks EdDataFix

I have not seen, complete in their channel, new double tube assemblies for sale anywhere, and here in the UK I think there is only one supplier of 'bare' bulbs, and in a lot of cases it makes the repair totally uneconomic,by the time you add P&P and Tax(VAT).Certainly after asking LG the question, they say they do not supply replacement, fully wired, Backlight assemblies

Carries wired up assemblies minus the metal reflector . Others accept mail in repairs of the the full ccfl assy.

Do you repair double tube CCFL assemblies ?

The following site has the pictorial replacement/soldering of dual lamp CCFL assy.
I always had problems of removing the rubber end holders. The lamps would break on
me which is why I use an exhaust fan when I work on these.

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

              B&K 707 tube tester. I need help.
              by DCJack
              Hi everyone!

I managed to get my hands on a rough condition B&K 707 for "the best price" because it was not working. It's my first tube tester and I'm really wanting to get it up and running. I downloaded that manual that has the schematics and tested every resistor and capacitor and replaced the ones that failed. I replaced the missing 83 rectifier tube with a used but tested-good one. I also have a number 80 rectifier tube that I have used in tests before I found the 83 tube.

Initially I noticed that I was not getting the red on-light to turn on, but it...

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
              by mikey5791
              Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

              TCL 49S405 double image
              by howardc64
LCD displays a 2nd image slighty offset vertically. And multiple pairs of black lines along the bottom. Probably common as google "TCL 49S405 double image" pulls up this ifixit post ( link ) with identical ( nearly, but their fault seems to be on the other half of the panel than mine ) problem without solution.

This one looks to be a more difficult to diagnose because most? of TCON seems integrated ( CSOT BGA on buffer baord) into the left panel edge board ( looking from rear of TV) There are 2 buffer boards for each 1/2 of the screen. Main connects to the left buffer board...

Problem one, the external PSU was missing. I found one in my stash that had the correct voltage (12V) with the goofy 4-pin plug it used. It however was light on the...
