HP F2105 Shuts off - related to brightness

My HP F2105 can be forced to shut off by adjusting the brightness. The screen will flicker for about 15 seconds and then shuts off with the power light remaining blue. However, if I adjust the brightness above 92% it will remain on and operate flawlessly.

I just finished recapping all of the boards and I have the same effect. Any suggestions for troubleshooting next steps?

Aged CCFLs most likely. You will need to replace the lamps.

The top set of lamps seem to sweat around the end where the white leads are soldered to the tubes .
I have had 2 of these and both had the same symptom

thanks...I couldn't find any sweat but it does make sense that the lamps are aged. I'm going to leave the brightness cranked for now and order replacements.

SO i turn the laptop on , and as soon as it starts booting from disk, from usb, windows, linux,HBCD,anything i boot it just turns off....while in bios menu or in linux boot menu it stays on normally...It's like when it starts to use graphics it shuts down...But i measured 0.72V while working on the GPU power line,no excess heat is comming from GPU or CPU, i even removed the heatsink and turned the laptop on and everything worked fine, got a bit hot, fan span to full speed, but it worked like that for few minutes in bios...

HP Pavilion 15-1812nd scrren brightness issues
            by dr.thodt
I have a notebook, HP Pavilion 15-1812ND with brichtness issues.
When in windows, I use the the brightness keys on the keyboard, brightness goes up aprox (75%) then the screen begins to flicker and gets darker again.
When I lower the brightness again it's getting brighter first and then it dims and the flickerings gets less.

I already chaned the screen and LVDS Cable.

Does anyone ever seen this problem and maybe have an idea how to fix this.
            Any help would be apprecited.

            Thank you

HELP - Contrast/brightness issue with subtitles on screen
            by cloudy
            Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.

Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.

It occours both on ubuntu and windows...

Asrock z97x starts then shuts off after 4 seconds, sometimes more, no post
            by chaos-theory
I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...
