    Envision G918w1

This monitor will show a picture for about 2 seconds and then the LCD goes dark but the picture is still there, just very dark. Upon looking at the board inside (pictures attached) I cannot see any bad caps or anything that looks out of order. Can anyone offer any ideas? Thank you in advance for any help.

It could be the ccfl lamps or about 300 other things

Something simple you could try is to just install the top set of backlights, and power on the monitor.
Do you get a flash of the backlights?
Next install just the bottom set, power on do you get a flash of the lamps?
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
        by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
        by Schwoin
        Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.

        TCL 55US57 backlights, no picture.
        by DXseekerMO
So here we go with another screen short TCL. For this exercise left and right will be reference looking at the screen.

The person I got this TV from said the color was bad in a vertical fashion about 1/4 of the way over the left side of the screen. Shortly after the symptoms below started.

Power Supply, main and T-CON board are working.

Symptoms: The TV has backlights but no picture with both FFC's attached to the T-CON and does not respond to the remote or buttons, and the TV appears to continuously re-boot.

        Unhook FFC from left side...

Samsung UN70TU6980FXZA no sound no picture but does have backlights
        by stinger
When I turn tv on, the backlights come on but there is no sound or picture. I have read that these tv's have problems with the panels going bad but the "no sound" has me questioning if the main board is bad. Is there a way to troubleshoot the main board to determine if that is the problem?
