    CRT Monitor

    Hello

I have a 17" CRT Monitor with an Hourglass shape picture. Would this be a matter of bad capacitors? If yes, which caps do I have to replace? If not a cap issue, what should I look for please?

    Thanks in advance

    Mario

An hourglass picture will probably be caused by problems in the vertical output section. Often there is a circuit called vertical pump up, which provides extra drive to the v. yoke to make the vertical sweep linear. You may in fact have a bad cap in that circuit. It will be obviously open most of the time and usually a g.p. cap.
      Is it plugged in?
