    dell 2005fpw power issues

going through some of these monitors i just got.

THis one is a dell lcd monitor, model 2005fpw.

WHen plugged in i get the standby light, hit power, led turns green, backlights flash as it tries ti power up then it shuts itself back off. Can repeat this several times. Its not staying on with backlight off, its literally powering up for just a split second and then shutting itself down.

I suspect cap issues. I will post my findings shortly.

well the caps all look o.k. I found a ton of bad solder ont he power supply(mostly at transformers and rectifier)
    . I reflowed it.

Not it powers on and stays on, but right at powerup i get a loud scratching type sound accompanied but either lines or the jittery welcome screen(depends on how it feels lol)

checked fuses on t-con and ensured the connections in the panel are o.k.

Might have to trash this one.

        Did you measure the caps?
The 2 or 4 caps in the top left with the foam pads on them, did you check them?
36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....
