    Proview EM190

HI just need some input to check i am correct .
On the pics i have attached
    Red + input
    yellow - input

I bought this monitor as the seller said it would not power up ,
when it arrived i was confused to find no DC input jack as i have another one of these i was going to use for parts (slight difference in the main board )
I contacted the seller and from what i can gather he was putting the power plug into the audio input

Opened up the monitor to find no female connection on the main board either so how the hell anybody ran this as a monitor is beyond me unless its scavenged for parts and the wrong ones put back in.

I just wanted to check that i am correct as i am going to solder wires straight to the board for now to run tests to see if it actually works before i buy in a dc jack set .

    Any input welcome

A pic of the backside of the monitor would help (pics of the board inside dont help for your question). My guess is someone changed the board inside with a board with no jack (not unheard of to sell to look complete). That monitor clealy needs a 12v PSA.

Hi i know it needs 12v 5a was just trying to confirm which would be positve and which negative inputs on the board as the other one i have has a different power input its a 2 pin .

If and when i do fit a jack plug set its going to have to be mounted on the chassis and wires run to the board as it will be to far into the case to use a female jack on the board (if that makes sense)

Look for a power plug on the blue VGA cable where it connects to the video card on your computer
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

All the External Power Supply models I have seen, have an Electrolytic cap very close to the input socket,so the cap -ves are very likely to be the input -ve as well..there may also be a diode very close, just in case a PSU with the wrong polarity is plugged in.

Well Alexanna you were right .
The power input point is supposed to be in the vga cable plug .

After you had said to look there i decided to take a closer look at the cable itself on the end that plugs into the main board sure enough there are a black and a red wire .

Blue plug end is not a sealed unit as normal its a self fit type opened it up and bingo 2 snipped wires red and black .

So now all i have to do is tap in at the board end for a dc jack plug to mount
on the back plate and then see if the monitor works.

Thanks for the input everybody .

                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                I have this monitor that roughly every few minutes, the image would turn solid black for a frame or 2. It is infrequent but annoying and I'd like to stop it somehow. I have tried: swapping power supplies, different video cable, all 3 video inputs on the monitor, and 3 different computers. Since the symptoms doesn't change, the issue is likely with the monitor;

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                by Hakuu
                Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                More Details

                TV Model - LG OLED77G1PUA

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...
