You may have to clean off the flux residue on top of the IC to be able to read, it has to have some kind of printing on top.

That is the problem their are no numbers on the top of the device. Maybe on the bottom but have to remove it to see.

No. Can you read the numbers as printed on the top? I would try new start up first.

OK, it is either bad SMPS IC U801 or may be bad electrolytics startup/running cap (the one to the right of the Green main filter cap in the primary side).

    -V To U801 pin 1 = 0 volts
    -V to U801 pin 3 = 9.033 volts
    -V to U801 pin 6 = 0 volts

Dont be fooled by the results he got - start high and work down.

    -V to U801 pin 1 = .22 ohm
    -V to U801 pin 3 = 1.52 Meg ohm
    -V to U801 pin 6 = .62 ohm
    R821 to u801 pin 3 = .22 ohm

OK, hook the logic board to the power supply board and see if you can see the LED power lights when you activate the power switch.

Did you remove the jumper to isolate the inverter circuit from power supply?

Ok where do I put my meter for this test? I also assume that the logic board is still disconnected.

OK, lets remove the jumper that feeds the B+ to the inverter circuit to see if the power supply will start up OK without inverter circuit in place.

HP Elitebook 840 G1 BIOS Issues
    by Larchemont
    Hello Folks,

i have a HP Elitebook 840 G1 with a locked BIOS and i have bought a CH341a (black PCB). My problem is that the Bios Chip reads 25Q128A 13ECO and i cannot find a profile for this chip in any of the software recommended in the guide threat in this forum. The chip cannot be detected wich i dont find too surprising, but i can read the chip with random other profiles selected.

I have found a post in this forum in wich the user stated he was able to flash this exact chip with the CH341a and the testclip, but unfortunately this user is no longer active. In...

    neovo H-W22S black screen
    by alessio211734
    Hello everyone,
    I have a problem with a neovo H-W22S monitor.
When I turn on the screen, the image is visible for an instant
and then disappears. If I go to light up the screen with a flashlight with much difficulty
I can see the image. The monitor led remains on.
I unmounted the monitor and took some photos of the power board.
I add a video link to better understand the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycyO...ature=youtu.be
Capacitors do not seem swollen. What could I verify?...
