Acer al718 lcd monitor will not power on

Hi all, This my first time on this forum. I have faulty monitor which i brought off craiglist and will not turn on. I heard capacitors are normally the culprit, so i have opened the monitor to take out PSU for display. I labeled some parts i think could be problem along with area for my own disableming of psu. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

You have a serious problem. The upper inverter transformer is fried. You would probably find the two transistors next to it are shorted, and there is a third (probably on the back) that is also shorted. Of course, all caps should be replaced with Panasonic FR, FM, or FC series. The transistors and caps would be cheap. I'm not sure about finding a replacement transformer. I'd say you would be better off looking for a new power supply.

Currently I am googling to find a psu and compenent replacement. Do you know of any well know electronic stores that might have components that i need for this project?

For component replacement, if you live in the USA, you have mouser.com and digikey.com to choose from. Digikey shipments arrive usually within 48 hours and shipping is around $2.75 USD.

I will make note of using pictures in attachments. I will looking at these sites to see what components i can replace and post what i will do next to solve this problem. Thanks for reply.

I did a little research and I couldn't find that board (ADP-42AF) being sold anywhere. Even your Acer AL718 model didn't have a single one being auctioned on eBay. I was hoping to find you one for parts or repair. The inverter transformer is going to be the tough one to replace. You might try an ad in "Looking to buy" thread out here. Maybe you'll get lucky and somebody will have a spare board with that inverter transformer lying around. Other than that, just search for recycled LCD monitors for parts or repair. Good luck.

I will desolder inverter transformer off board and post part no. info that i find on here and googling to see if i find it somewhere. Thanks.

So far, I have desolder transformer. Here is part no. 2801969500. It also has DCWM0371(05)YQ also.
