    Sceptre X240T-1920 24"

    Hi everyone,

This monitor is new in 8/2009, has been working great until yesterday when I came home to a black screen with the power button flashing (Blue).

I tried on different computers in case of a video card problem same issue. I cant find much information on this monitor that is helpfull.

I tried the flashlight trick and could not see anything. If I turn it off and on I can see the computer booting up but the screen goes blank in a second at most, so I keep hitting power button off and on and can see different phases of the computer starting.

If I just unplug then plug it back in and turn on power I can see (2) slight flashes of light but never a picture.

So any thoughts would be very appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Drew

    I can make some suggestions
There a lot of reasons for your monitor behaving like you describe
Depending on how the monitor was designed, there is a possibility you may be experiencing what we call 2 seconds to black. I have worked on some Dell monitors that have had something causing the CCFLs to turn off [ Bad capacitors, CCFL or, Inverter coil bad] this occurs rather rapidly in other words faster than 2 seconds, and goes into a standby mode. I am sure there are others that behave the same way. If you're able to follow the guide that Retiredcaps has written about 2 seconds to black it probably would be a good place to start.
Without seeing what you're working with it's going to be hard for anyone to make suggestions.
It really makes thing easier if the pictures are not posted inline.
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

Any chance that it's still under warranty? If not, then you'll have to take apart and post some good focused photos, top and bottom, of the entire power supply.
