    Hi all again,

    Sorry for long absent.

Here are the pictures (see below).

I have some basic soldering experience.

Any ideas what can be wrong or what should I check first?
    Thanks.

If you can even find a shop to do it it will be too expensive.
Retired is right, they'll likely not be willing to do component level repair, so it'll be a board swap *if* they can get one.

I did an Acer 19" monitor last night, took half an hour, and cost about $4.78 for parts.
That's replacing the defective parts, and all the others that may have also been close to failing.

Do you have any soldering experience?

The cost of fixing your monitor is likely to be more than $40/hour for labour + parts. Some repair shops will just do board swaps and not replace individual components.

On the other hand, your problem could be bad capacitors. To get new caps would probably cost around $15 (shipping from digikey.ca is $8 alone) + your time to open the monitor and solder in the new caps.

Sounds like the power supply is having trouble staying up. Could be caps, or a shorted component.

Thanks for the reply. I will take a look on Monday.
I just want to add that Power button does not do anything. I mean, the Power button and 1 icon blinking every 2-3 seconds, but if I push Power button - nothing changes: not picture, Power button and 1 icon still blinking.

Hookup a working computer displaying your favourite wallpaper to the lcd.

    1) If you shine a flashlight onto the lcd, can you see the wallpaper?

    2) If you power off and power on, does the backlight come on briefly to display the wallpaper?

    3) Please post clear focused pictures of all your boards using the manage attachments button. Please do NOT post inline.

    Hi all.

I just tried to use Dell 2007BPb monitor at work and I could not have it working. There is no picture on the monitor, but power button light and icon number 1 (which means VGA) blink every 2-3 seconds (simultaneously). Any ideas where should I start to troubleshoot?

    Thanks in advance!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. ๐Ÿ˜…

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Dell Optiplex 7490 AIO - red power led after flash
    by Mark01
    Hi guys,

This is my first post! ๐Ÿš€
I have no idea what Iโ€™m doing, but Iโ€™m learning by trial and error.

Iโ€™m currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490โ€”one of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...

Dell inspiron 17 (7786) - DP/N 09P7JP - odd power issues, starting with no power LED

hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

Ill try and give as much info as I can.

    Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
    Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
    Bios: 1.9.0

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
    Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...
