by chaos-theoryI have a card that does post at all, the owner said it does go into windows but it gets stuck on the logo with artifacts, I have no idea if he is lying or not... I tried the card on my pc and it does not post at, no beeps, no bios nothing just all fans turning and nothing else. I tried plugging DVI or hdmi but nothing, I tried unplugging the 8 pin plug from the power supply and it's the same thing.
I just want it to post and get into the bios at least.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but I tested the 3 PCIe 12v power pins on the left(550ohm) and the 4th one from the right 3.3v (400ohm),... -
by Sorrow1Hi,
I try to repair an old Intergraph TDZ 2000 from 1998. It is a dual Pentum II machine based on Intel 440LX chipset. There is a non-removable bios chip named PhoenixBios B1787840. I cannot see any physical damage to the board. All caps look OK.
It shows no picture and POST stops with code 2F/2E regardless whether or not any graphic card is plugged in. If memory is removed, it stops on previous code 28/17 and stars beeping. I tested both CPUs in another machine and I also use RAM from another machine.
When I recorded video of POST card and played it in slow... -
by bbenalmadenaHi, been banging my head two days with a UX461UA Zenbook Asus that will not post. Laptop looks ok, all voltages looks nominal, CPU gets hot, even fan kicks in when it gets hot, I removed the m2 drive and tried several things, I thought it was a bios issue, I even registered here to try flashing with some BIOSes but the problem still was the same, no POST
At last I decided to check the disk drive to see if any backup can be done and then I realized that the disk drive was broken, I thought what are the odds that the motherboard and the drive at the same time? So I just plug another...09-05-2024, 02:18 AM -
by MireniaHi everyone,
I've got a strange issue with a X570 AORUS MASTER Rev. 1.2 motherboard. The owner (my cousin in law) told me that over time he got more and more bluescreens until the board won't boot/post anymore.
It showed only post codes "C8, C3" and won't boot
I found a few things:
- cpu was faulty/dead (For further tests I replaced it with my own ryzen 7 3700X)
- with new cpu motherboard only runs on BIOS version F22 and below
-> And windows only runs stable if I set PCIe in BIOS settings to Gen 3. On automatic settings I got random... -
by AJ847.63eHi All,
Need a bit of assistance digging up some information on current technology support required for modern motherboards to post? By modern let's say 6th gen skylake to current intel and all of the Ryzen series. You would think this would be on the ARK product page, but nope. Besides saying dedicated graphics required it doesn't really tell you squat.
Reason I ask is I've ran into this a few times now (first on 6th gen SkyLake and now on 12th gen AlderLake) where if I use an intel F SKU CPU multiple different boards refuse to post with multiple different graphics... - Loading...
