Hi, been banging my head two days with a UX461UA Zenbook Asus that will not post. Laptop looks ok, all voltages looks nominal, CPU gets hot, even fan kicks in when it gets hot, I removed the m2 drive and tried several things, I thought it was a bios issue, I even registered here to try flashing with some BIOSes but the problem still was the same, no POST
At last I decided to check the disk drive to see if any backup can be done and then I realized that the disk drive was broken, I thought what are the odds that the motherboard and the drive at the same time? So I just plug another m2 nvme drive into the computer and then I get POST video.
Never before encountered a laptop, or a desktop, that will not post if there has not a disk drive attached )or a faulty one), and maybe someone else will have the same issue, so here it is the fix. Maybe is the same for UX461UN as they are very similar, so watch out
