    Guess what i'll be grabbin?

    $15 for this (it's a 19" widescreen btw):

It's missing the PSU board but that shouldn't be a problem for me (at least NO MORE BAD CAPS ). What do you think about it? I was in the mood of building a PSU anyway.

I do have a few questions for the ones more knowledgeable in LCD repairs. What kind of power rails do LCDs usually have, beyond the 5v and 12v? I saw some 3.3 and 1.8v in a Samsung i fixed a couple months ago, but i dunno if that's a standard. I'm wondering if there is a quick mod to an ATX power supply that could power an LCD monitor, so i can make sure the panel works before i start designing its own power supply from scratch.

Personally, I have seen 19V DC in addition to the above.

One current thread is also reporting 24V DC and the schematics for this Viewsonic confirm that.

$15.00??? Not a good investment. Most wide screen monitors have the inverter integrated into the power supply. Getting this working is going to require more than just providing 5 volts.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

        Good looking monitor,
As far as building a power supply I guess anything is possible. Myself I would have some concerns.
Why is the power supply missing, is there a problem with the lcd, may be like a pixel problem or an issue with the what I call the video board If you're lucky maybe its just has a bad ccfl.
Do you have a way to power up the lcd to make sure it's ok?
        Al.
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

Mmkay, and some 700v for the CCFLs. That isn't too hard to do.

That's kinda what i was asking. We'll see, i'm not really decided on buying it anyway.

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
            by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

Garage light only lights up when you hit it. Make your guess as to the cause!
            by SluggerB
The flood light over my garage was hanging out of the house due to the previous moron not knowing how to anchor it correctly. So I fixed that today

I then go to turn the light on tonight, and it doesn't stay on. If I tap it with a piece of wood, the lights come on for a sec them dim. Repeated tapping will cause it to eventually start working, until the switch is flipped, then it's a 50/50 shot it will work again or need to be tapped to start

So tomm begins the diagnosis. What do you think it is? Vote now!

help with AMD Ryzen 5 7535hs power rails
            by ferah831208
Hello there, does anyone have info about AMD Ryzen 5 7535hs power rails or an schematics from a compatible CPU?. I have a quanta G3PR from a HP victus laptop, I suspect cpu is damaged but I would like to know what power rail is the one I guess is damaged. There are 4 coils aprox 4.2 ohm to gnd in parallel next to CPU (I guess vcore) ,one coil same size next to those 4 around 0.7ohms to gnd (damaged rail I guess), and other two smaller I guess associated to less current power rails for CPU logic purposes. Anyone have more specific info? I attached picture.

            Designing a peltier cooling system
            by vrasp
            Hi all,

First of all, I m not sure where this thread should go. My apologies if this is the wrong section.

I'm currently studying solvent crystallization in materials and would like to create a discrete cooling system that I can place under a microscope to observe crystallization. To be more specific, I need to create a temperature gradient with freezing temperatures (ideally down to -30°C) on one side and room temperature on the other. After some research in the literature, I found exactly what I need:

            QN75QN85BAFXZA no backlight

2+ year old TV with many (720? 65" version has 720) mini LED dimming zones. TV boots, has sound, panel picture can be seen with flashlight. No backlight. No TV model sticker on rear panel (Maybe Samsung service removed it, read below). Found the model # through the PSU and zoned LED driver board numbers.

PSU has a click near LED output circuit at 1 second interval, sounded like the 4x barrier rectifier area. Protective pastic liner under PSU shows heat signature on the Schottky Barrier Rectifier in this circuit. Found a shorted diode (2 diode per rectifier, failed rectifier labled...
