Rokit5, KRK speaker int no audio

    Hi all

Customer complains of losing the audio.

Will start with my usual M.O, which is to remove all glue & check the electrolytic caps on main board.

Anyone else experienced the int audio issue?

Spent all day removing glue from this piece of crap board.

All electrolytics checked out good, which is a surprise.

Reflowed loads of joint, even though nothing definite found.

Also manage to cook the RCA port, when I had board sitting on my pre-heater, but luckily had a replacement.

        Anyway, now working on test.

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
          by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

JVC I'Art AV-27F703 Left speaker audio not working
          by k24a1
          Hello Badcaps.net!

I have an old-school CRT TV that's a JVC I'Art 27F703 from july of 2002 that I use for my older game systems. It has been working great until I noticed that the left speaker is not working. I have also tried adjusting balance and trying external speakers, and that even had the same issue though the equipment itself passed the sound test! I actually took a closer look inside and some of the capacitors on the audio circuitry portion of the mainboard were starting to leak underneath! They were samsung capacitors and uh, I don't see those ever being touted as reputable.......

Roland KR-3500/4500 Digital Piano. Crackling audio sound on all keys -Fixed
          by i_am_patch
Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

Replace 25V cap with a 16V in a portable speaker?
          by Paxman_Swede
          Hi!

I posted a thread about identifying caps of my Zoom 9000 guitar effect where I mentioned a JBL speaker I'm trying to help my friend with. I haven't gotten any answers to that thread but I have a question regarding the cap in the speaker, so I thought I'd ask it separately.

The cap is marked 100uf 25V. I have found a set of caps on Amazon that I think will cover the caps of the guitar effekt but it doesn't have any 100uf 25V. It does have a 100uf 16V though. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that 25V can sometimes be replaced with 16V...but I can't find...
