Hello Badcaps.net!
I have an old-school CRT TV that's a JVC I'Art 27F703 from july of 2002 that I use for my older game systems. It has been working great until I noticed that the left speaker is not working. I have also tried adjusting balance and trying external speakers, and that even had the same issue though the equipment itself passed the sound test! I actually took a closer look inside and some of the capacitors on the audio circuitry portion of the mainboard were starting to leak underneath! They were samsung capacitors and uh, I don't see those ever being touted as reputable.... LMAO.
Is anyone skilled with this specific model of TV and can anyone give me an insight on what's going on? I plan to do a full recap to fix the distortion issues that aren't related to any geometry settings and also to make it operate more reliably, but I'm also asking here because I am curious if something else should be replaced. Yes, I did have all the stereo cables connected and I even checked the user settings. The service menu doesn't have a mention of it either and both speakers look perfectly fine. It appears to be an issue in the audio circuitry itself or in the A/V board.
I have attached the service manual of this TV so you all can look through it. I don't have a lot of time to figure it out and I'd like to get this TV working again as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance!
