    Sony HCD-SH2000 No sound

Hi techs, I have a Sony hcd-sh2000 sound system which has very faint sound output behind a loud humming noise. I have tested all semiconductors voltages against ones in the schematic and all seem to be ok except mute output from system controller IC which is a 3.3v but is appearing and disappearing. I have isolated this leg but still the 3.3v is on and off. Anyone ever come across this fault please help.

See attached the schematic and the main and amp boards.

Did you check Q207? It seems to be the common component to mute all the amplifiers.

Thank you for your reply. I did check Q207 it has -3v on the collector, 3.3v on the emitter and 3.2v on the base. However pin 51 on IC100 has a 3.2v out of the IC which is coming on and off every 3s or so. I isolated the pin and there is no change the 3.2v is still going on and off. With pin 51 on IC100 isolated, the voltages on Q207 are stable. I am suspecting IC100 might be faulty but I may be wrong.

If IC100 was faulty, I think the system would not switch on at all.
Have you checked all the power lines?
        What about pins 63, 71 and 72 on IC100?
Considering the "pulsing" of pin 51, I would check all the pin values arriving at IC100.

I would suspect a bad audio output, either a bad ic406~409 or a bad output transistor Q1418~1425.
I would check if there was any DC voltage on any of the speaker connections, it could be that there is dc on the outputs and the protection circuit on page 41, is detecting this and telling ic100 to mute any audio.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Sony KD-75XF9005 grey Picture but Sound. TCON or panel?
            by iglitare
            Hi,

i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.

Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted...

Sony SLV-E780 Power Supply Issue – Clicking Sound, Need Help Identifying Faulty Component
            by Akuanka
            Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.

Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Trying to Save - SONY BRAVIA KD-75X780F - No Picture BUT there’s sound
            by KYBOSH
Previous owner said TV just went blank one day.
They attempted to open the back panel and yanked the power connector off the power supply in the meantime.
Easily fixed that and got the TV to turn on. Backlights come one with everything connected. Good Sign.
The mainboard shows signs of life (red light on digital audio out is on) but that's about it. Good Sign.
There is not blinking LED and the most importantly there is LED response and sound when I press the MENU button on remote control. GREAT Sign.

I just downloaded the Sony KD-75X7800F Service Manual and...

            Sony Bravia KD-50X690E NO SOUND
            by x_orange90_x
Finally got my KD-50X690E up and running after replacing the power supply. Upon testing it I noticed the lack of sound from the speakers. At first I just ignored it thinking it was set to external speakers or some other kind of audio setting. However, after actually going into settings and looking around I see nothing of this sort. I looked it up on Google and apparently a lot of people have disappearing audio on a variety of Sony TVs 🙄. I'm going to see if a firmware or software update will resolve it, if available.

Has anyone else had this happen to their tv?
