Behringer Europower PMP3000 Mixer - LED Bar Meter sticks at high level

    Hi guys
I have this faulty mixer here. Basically the owner says it worked fine at one gig, then the next one it didn't

When I power on, both the L & R LED Meters go to +4 and stay there. This is without any input and with all sliders Level Set knobs set to zero

Also the LED meter on the 24-bit dual engine DSP goes to red (clip)

I didn't connect an speakers but if I use headphones I can hear what I can best describe as a purring noise on both channels

I found a schematic for the PSU There is a 10 way ribbon cable going from the PA/PSU to the mixer section.

According to the schematic I should have on this cable, from the left hand side:
    Ground
    Right Audio
    Ground
    Left Audio
    + 15V (red wire) - reads 14.79V
    - 15V - reads 15.25V
    Ground
    + 48V - reads 46.6V
    + 5V - reads 4.88V

I tried connecting an audio source to Channel 9/10. I ca nsee the rare some 8 pin chips on each input channel (see pics) these are marked 4580 and I found a datasheet that says this is a dual op-amp

With my scope I can trace the audio signal on each output pin of the op-amp chips, up to the row of chips at the top of the PCB (under where the channel numbers are marked on the silk screen - 1,2,3.....9/10, 11/12

I am getting audio signal as far as here but I don't know where to check after that. I still get the purring noise on the headphones and can't hear the audio signal at all

There is no audio signal on the 10 way connector feeding to the PA.

Any suggestions where to check next, and does anyone have a schematic for the mixer PCB.

    Thanks
    Rich

      - 15V - reads 15.25V are you sure its positive ?
check for dc voltages on the outlet to amp .
      also turn down pgm .
also check for anything spilled into it ..drinks often get spilled into mixers

        @petehall
sorry no that is a typo
        +15V reads +14.79
        -15V reads -15.25

        @lotas
Thanks for the PMP3000 rar file - this is the one I already have. From what I can see (unless I am mistaken as I am not so experienced on mixer repair) it contains the schematic for the PSU board, the schematic for the Power Amp, and schematic for a mono input channel.

But it does not have the schematic for the main mixer section and I pretty much proved I have audio as far as the output on the last op-amp on the input channel I tested so I am pretty sure the fault is somewhere in the main mixer/DSP section.

Could you confirm that is what the contained schematic is showing?

        Thanks

Well, first you need to check the power supply for ripple on the power supply 5v, 12v, + -15v (check electrolyte capacitors for capacity and esr), check grounding (gnd) between the power supply and the main boards and all connectors, check volume controls and others using multimeter (the resistive layer is erased and stops working) and disconnect the 48v power from the power amplifier.

The 48v is the phantom power for the mic’s. I am not familiar with that model, but is it possible to bypass the DSP or turn the DSP off? To me the problem is either the DSP itself, or right at the input of the DSP from what you are describing.

Power button on Behringer Xenyx 1204USB mixer dead ?
              by Thermaltake
Hi, I got Behringer Xenyx 1204USB mixer, and in the morning mixer was working fine, but when I came home from bike ride I turn it On but nothing happend. Phantom switch is working because red light is On, but other switch no respond.
I brought mixer to my friend today who is electronic expert and he will tell me if it's the button or something on power supply that died. But I am 90% sure that it's power button. My question is, is it possible to put some better quality switches on that mixer than the ones mixer came with, I found them very cheap and low quality.

              Hi, I have few questions

              1. few of my pots on mixer are turning so hard, I tried to clean them and spray some DeoxIT Fader spray in it, but it didn't help. Is there any way to put some grease inside that pots whole that is on the side instead of spraing in it ?

              2. Or is it just simpler to replace them all with same ones ? I am not into pots, so am I able to put some better quality ones or it needs to be same one as they were default ?...

Is it possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue meter?
              by chth96
I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...

Schematic Digital Audio mixer RCF type M18
              by Bektronics
              Hello dear audio friends.

I am feverishly looking for the full electronic schematic (not a block diagram) of the RCF type M18 digital audio mixer.
The device does not make a WIFI connection with my Apple tablet and yet I have already installed the recent app on it.
I suspect that there is a problem in the mixer itself with the WIFI card and of course I would like to see this on an extensive schedule before opening the device.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me with this schematic.
Of course, all information about this digital mixer and possibly references...

Modification of a Fluke multi meter that uses three AA batteries to use a 14500 lithium ion battery
              by sam_sam_sam
I have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board

I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery...
