    hi all,
I ve just got a BXW-10 that works on power on (green) outputs sound but goes into standby (red) in about a minute. Any pointers where I should start looking please? Im suspecting the power supply and/or standby circuit if i could identify it.Thanks in advance for any help!

I assume that your 'power function switch' is set to auto? Have you tried it in the 'On' position, and if so does the speaker stay on all the time? Are you using the +12VDC Trigger input, and have you checked that voltage level from the amp is correct? Are you using the correct lead?
If you're relying on the input signal to keep the speaker on, is the level from the amplifier set high enough? (You may have to re-calibrate your amp)
If you look at the circuit diagrams posted earler, there are some notes about what logic levels to expect at the pins of the microcontroller (IC109), so that would be a good place to start if everything else is OK.
My gut feeling (based on no other information!) is that it's a set-up issue rather than a faulty unit, so do check the manual for the correct connections. I drive my speaker from a Yamaha amp which provides a trigger voltage output, and it works perfectly.
      Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, its powers on and plays for under a minute irrespective of auto or auto off and goes to standby. I can hear the relay clicking. Input signal is fine, I ve tried it from studio grade outputs (+4dB) and normal the behaviour is the same. I need to take the boards apart from the backplate they are kind of glued in (ugh).
Will check the IC109. Thanks again for the help!

Hello everyone, I have recently received a speaker system and I'm trying to get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated. I am very new to this and unfortunately, my expertise doesn't go very far.

There are 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer. They are all connected to a Pioneer amplifier, model is SC-LX57. The speakers all work fine, the problem I am experiencing is with the subwoofer. It is Monitor Audio Bronze BXW-10. When I turn it on, the light is green for about 20 seconds, then it goes into red. Based on my troubleshooting, that means it doesn't receive a signal. All the other speakers are producing sound. Here is the way we received the cables (green light due to the fact it just turned it on):

What I have tried so far:
            1. Testing different modes and channels from the amp
            2. Setting the SW from the amp to High and all the other speakers to Small
            3. Removing the Line input cables and leaving only the LFE
            4. Removing the LFE and leaving only the line input
            5. Using a dual RCA (red and white) to 3.5mm and plugging it directly into my laptop, and trying to get a signal

None of the above worked. Any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

I have also taken out the amp in the subwoofer here, I have attached the images. I think on the amplifier circuit something may be fried. Around R170, R169 and C158.

Im contemplating whether this is something i can fix myself or get a new whole amp from MA for $200.

            Thank you very much!

How does the unit behave when you switch it to modes off and auto?

And until you are sure that the subwoofer is working, use signal from phone/mp3 player/laptop etc. (3.5mm to RCA connected to LINE/LFE ). You don't have to use both LINE and LFE inputs at the same time. For troubleshooting just switch between them.

To check if the sense circuit is working, while playing music, check pin 13 on ic109 - there should be +5V if a signal is detected.

Monitor Audio RSW12 - Green light but no audio

                Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
                by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

                AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
                by wattage
                Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

                Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.
                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...lashing-on-off

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...
