    Sonos Connect repair

I was given a broken sonos connect by a friend. It wont power on.

He opened it up and soldered a black and gray wire together he said came apart. Im unsure if these wires are even meant to be connected.

I also see an area on the power input board that may be suspect. I will upload photos later tonight.

Can anyone give me some insight on this unit? Advice? similar issues?

    Re: Sonos Connect repair

See attached photos of power supply board. This is what I thought the issue was....due to some areas of the board not looking so good.

After removing the board I powered it up to check voltage outputs. Vo9tage is good coming off thhe board, so I don't believe this is the issue.

The gray/black wire soldering I was writing about in the prior post is correct. It appears the wire broke and the black is just a patched piece of wire. Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement gray wire?(I am unsure of the name/connector/size)
I think that wire is either a ground or wifi

Also from researching it appears the older models had a fuse mounted to the board. Not a glass fuse, a disc type soldered to the board.

I am unsure if this model has a fuse. Can anyone tell me if c12197 is a fuse. In my little experience, ā€œcā€ usually indicates capacitor but it stood out to ke because of difference in color.

It's a tantalum capacitor. The green disc is an inrush limiter. The fuse is next to it covered in heatshrink.

I think you are referring to the components on the power supply board. I do apprciate you telling me what those components are because I would have never known there was a fuse on that board, but I believe that board is good. I have the correct voltage coming out of the board.

Im trying to see if there is some type of fuse on the larger boards. The older models had a fuse om those (see attached). Im not familiar with the look of components on these types of boards.

Sharp TFT-LCD Model No. LQ050Q5DR01 gray screen
            by Mad_Science
I have a older eddy current tester made by Olympus that uses interchangeable TFT-LCD screens. I have two devices that each take the same removable screens. One is an Olympus NORTEC 200D+ and the other is an Olympus SONIC 1200M EMI. I have searched the internet high and low for service manuals for these units with no luck. Both these units were used extensively by the US military for NDT on airplanes. The detachable screen plugs into the base unit via a weird non standard VGA connector. Buttons on the removable display are used to power the units on. When the power button is pressed the unit makes...

Trying to Save - Samsung 65" The Frame (QN65LS03B) with no signs of life (One Connect Box)
            by KYBOSH
I picked this one up today.
Previous owner says no signs of life.
TV looks immaculate and its a 2022 model year so I thought maybe the one connect cable was damaged.
Got it home and put it on the Kill-A-Watt power meter and it was completely dead.

The TV model is QN65LS03BAFXZA - version: CB06
            The One Connect Box BN44-01066D / BN96-54788Q / BN39-02470A.

I immediately remembered EazyBone's Samsung The Frame TV no power....One Connect thread and am preparing myself to tear the One Connect open and hunt for dead parts.

            Will keep you all...

New wire for my RDE3340 Whirlpool electric range
            by wnlewis
OK. I got the rocker switch figured out thanks to the good advice on this forum.

Now I need to figure out the correct wire to go to the switch from the broiler element and from the oven element.

This is a Whirlpool RDE3340 electric range.

The common wire on the switch appears to have a high temperature insulating material. I am guessing that both the wire to the broiler and the wire to the oven elements also need relatively high temperature insulation. What do I need to look for? The broiler is rated at about 2400 watts.

            Where may I find parts...
