Placing magnet near microphone (bad idea ?)

Good day folks. Would it have a negative impact on audio quality if I placed a magnet near a mic ? Let me explain, since the question is not what you'd expect. We're not talking about pro audio gear here: I got myself one of those small spy recorders disguised as a USB flash drive and the audio quality is pretty impressive and so is the battery life, but when it comes to "deploying" it where I need it, I'm planning on snapping it under the edge of a table and have two options: velcro or attaching a magnet to the flash drive which would then attach to a screw head conveniently located where I need it. Either option would be just as easy to pull off, but the magnet would make it more versatile and would enable me to use it in other places as well, whereas with the velcro, I'd first have to stick a piece of soft material that the velcro can stick to where I need it. Mind you, we'll leave any details about the WHY part of this project out of the discussion for now

Long story short: magnet near microphone ? Will it do ANYTHING to the audio ? I believe, and I'm not an audio expert so please don't quote me on this, that it uses an electret microphone. I didn't take it apart to know exactly, but from what I've read electret microphones seem to be more common so I'm going to ASSUME it's one of those.

    there are many mic;s

    moving coil - bad
crystal - wont give a shit
electrostatic / electret - not sure.

It's probably electret indeed, and likely the distance from the magnet and the strength of the magnet won't affect recording. Worst case is that your sound will get slightly muddled.

I think I'm more interested in why now. I hate spies.

Well TBH it's my own private space, so it's not like I'm doing anything illegal

If it's only a recorder, and with no switchmode circuitry on the power side, there should be no issues.

If it was (also) a radio transmitter, that'd be a different story

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Philips F9217L-50R speakers – build quality impressions and DIY surround repair
            by momaka
More Lo-Fi speakers and another DIY surround repair. The patient this time: a pair of Philips F9217L-50R speakers from a budget Philips rack/component system from the '80's. The system belongs to my brother in-law… or actually his parents. However, they didn't want it when they moved houses and he liked it anyways, so he ended up keeping it. It's a pretty cool-looking vintage system with a wood/veneer cabinet and shelves for records and cassettes. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it or get the model #'s (but maybe next time I visit, if anyone is curious?)

I also checked the lid sw# it works just fine the voltage with out the magnet is 3.3v and drops down to 0 when magnet is engaged

I'm a hobbyist when it comes to playing with circuits. I took a couple of years of electronics courses at the local junior college back in 1990 - 91. I've been a Network Engineer by trade pretty much my entire adult life, so my ability to engineer circuits is very basic in my opinion.

A couple of years ago, I made a magnetic stirrer using a motor from an old hand drill, a speed control circuit that I got from Amazon, and an iridium magnet bar that I fastened to ... something ... that was attached to the shaft of the motor (and I don't recall all of the specifics of how I managed to...
