Denon cd player has very low output

I have a Denon cd player model DCD835. It produces a clear distortion free output on both stereo channels , but has a very low volume. I have connected it to different stereo amplifiers with the same result. You can only hear the output if you turn the amplifier up to its highest level.
Anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this and where to start testing the player.

Probably one of the pre-out ICs overheated enough to not pop...look at the coupling / de-coupling e-caps feeding the input signal and power to the amplifiers. You could have a voltage drop to vcc on ICs.

Thanks for your response Andrew. I will get the cover off next week and have a look at the IC's that you refer to.

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
        by FrancescoV
        Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
        M:1.00/11107BLP
        D:?.??/????????
        O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
        by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Denon DN-501C CD-player not reading CD
        by PowerAmpFreak
Hello, I have tried to see what could be the problem in this CD-player with no luck.
The service manual for Denon pro gear is hard to come by.
The player loads the CD, spin the disc, but instead of focus adjustment the sled itself is jumping a few millimeters, and tries about 5-6 times and shows "Media Error"
The CD-transport itself has a partnumber of TD-S208PR-6, not much of info able to find.
This can be a problem with the PCB itself, but most often the transport is the problem....

        NTE Electronics “NTE5251K” Zener Diode 9.1V @ 50W Do-5.5% Want to build a 9.1 output from a 9.6 lipo4 battery pack
        by sam_sam_sam
I have bought this Zener Diode for this project what size and wattage resistor value do I need to use to get near 50 watt output
I bought this from an eBay seller but unfortunately they only had one

I bought three from Vetco Electronics these are Sylvania ECG5185A 9.1@10w A to Stud what size and watt resistor do I need to use to get near 10 watt output
I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind

I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery...

Corsair CX750M [Model 75-002019] - burned output toroid inductor
        by momaka
Looks like I may need a little help from the PSU experts (or anyone really! ) I have a Corsair CX750M (Model 75-002019) that I picked up for free about 4 years ago. This is the PSU:

So here’s what’s strange about this one: it appears to work normally (normal output voltages) and any PC is stable with it. However, after a while (typically 10-20 minutes, but time can vary depending on the load), there is a sweetish smell of burned magnet wire insulation emanating from the PSU. Upon opening the PSU after this happened (many times), I was able to confirm...
