FORD 2007 RDS stopped working after cleaning buttons!

    Hello folks,

Recenlty got a Ford 2007 RDS radio which had coke spilled on it, only the power button worked. I took it apart and cleaned all the buttons with alcohol, after assembly the radio would not turn on anymore. I checked the fuses, diodes on the mainboard but no luck.

There is one thing though, the "tuner" block on the mainboard gets very hot, I havent opened it yet because I need to resolder the frame first.

    What went wrong? Im confused.

you need to really clean that by flushing it under a tap.
coke is boric acid, it eats copper tracks - among other things.

Alcohol will not dissolve water based contamination or sugar. If we are talking about "tact" switches, they will have to be replaced.
      Is it plugged in?

They are not "Tact" switches, they are like the ones in TV-remotes, rubber and circuit.

Stj, just a little nit - actually, I think that should read 'phosphoric acid'

I think I´ll give up, I just cant find the fault, maybe the buttons are bad.

If you can take apart the button board you may be able to clean the carbon bit on bottom of the buttons and the circuit trace contacts. Contrary to STJ's comment, alcohol will dissolve sugar and water borne contaminants. It may not be as fast acting as other solvents and some soaps or detergents but it will do it. Plain pure water will do it and it's cheaper though.

LG OLED C1 Pixel Cleaning Made Picture Worse
                by rumi409
                 Hi,

I'm trying to resurrect a LG OLED C1 TV that has some panel banding. I used the TCON error bypass to get a picture. I was able to update the firmware as well. But when I performed a pixel cleaning to try to get the banding out, it made the image significantly worse. I tried to undo the effects of the pixel cleaning by performing a factory reset and IN_Stop, but that didn't work. Any way to reset pixel cleaning data?...

I was doing a large print job with my HP Deskjet F4180, and after about 50 pages the printer stopped in the middle of a page and the black ink light started flashing.
So I went to refill the black ink cartridge with a syringe, but found out it still had a lot of ink.

I tried to print a page again but every time it would print only a bit of the page and immediately stop with the black ink light flashing again.
I tried two other black ink cartridges, and the problem still endured, so I knew this problem had to be with the printer itself.

I ran HP Print and Scan...

                Macbook Dust-Gate Preventive Cleaning
                by howardc64
Just did this on my 2021 13" MBP M1. Dust-Gate design flaw still present. Depending on cleanliness of the operation environment (often eating while using MB is probably the worst). Periodic cleaning is probably warranted.

Note this is quite challenging effort. One misstep will damage the LCD flex and render it useless. So take it to someone more experienced if uncertain.

are there any resources that talk about cleaning keyboards thoroughly, by that i mean removing keycaps and cleaning.
i am worried about breaking those keycaps or the plastic retainer clip.

Need help cleaning ME region on Zbook 17 G1 bios dump
                by loopster
                Hello guys,

could I please get some help cleaning the ME region of the attached Zbook 17 G1 bios dump (CH341a, neoprogrammer, chip-desoldered, dumped twice, identical checksum)?

Symptoms, delayed BIOS post (ca. 45 secs.) keyboard not working, touchpad not working, booting linux live, console says "Management engine not configured".
I tried following the ME firmware cleaning guide, but whatever Flash Image Tool version I try, I get the same error:

Error 10: Failed to open with processed commands.
                Unable to open file: C:\Users\Elitebook...
