Home Theater System speakers failure?

I have a home theater player and I tried to play music but only the 2 side speakers play but not the central one, all other speaker work as well, I tried different playback CD, DVDs and for all is the same. Also, I connected the bottom of the center speaker plug and other speaker and it worked, the same when I mix the top plug of the center speaker, it works. They do not work together but with other speakers they do. Any idea what is happening? thanks

If the center channel works with another speaker connected then your center speaker or wiring to it is bad.
