Ive got this stereo open at the moment and the small 12v fan won’t run. I’ve tested it by itself with a Bench PS and it’s working ,just not when plugged into the board when the stereo is switched on.
    Any help is welcome.
    Cheers.! 🙂

    Here is the Service Manual.

    Here's part of the circuit.

The fan circuit is controlled from IC501 pin 44 so I suspect the fan won't run until it is required, if the fan is for cooling the outputs I suspect it only comes on when required, there is a HI-TEMP input on IC501 pin 87, controlled by TH501

What have you checked other than applying 12v to the fan? What are the voltages on Q813 pin 4 and pin2? maybe Q812 or Q813 are bad, ZD801 could be bad, maybe R826 is open?

Could also check the thermistor voltage at MCU pin 87 "HI-TEMP". It seems to be 100kΩ at 25°C with 5V power and R543 15kΩ so I would guess 4.35V at room temp and it drops as things heat up. If it's 5V then the thermistor is likely open-circuit. It's an 0603. Could heat it up a little with a soldering iron. My math:
            25°C gives 4.35V
            40°C gives 3.79V
            50°C gives 3.32V

Thanks for the interest and help guys. I’ll get back to this at some point. Too busy at the moment.
There’s no diagram for the circuit board and some have no reference so it might be difficult to find components.
              Cheers

                rx-750 pioneer stereo memory
                by kodiac
I have rx-750 pioneer stereo and the stored radio stations in the memory does not stay in the memory very long.
Does anyone know where the memory is located in this stereo and how it is powered up?
It does not have a battery backup.
Does the memory use a capacitor for its power supply?

                thank you

Hi, Can we use SMPS Bench Power Supply for Laptop troubleshooting?
                by shamsudeen
Hi all, I just need to know that, can i use SMPS type power supply to test and short circuit detection on a laptop motherboard?
I saw 95% of repair guys are using only Linear bench power supply. linear bench power supply is pricy, thats why i planned to get one SMPS supply.

i know that in linear power supply the noise will be very low comparing to SMPS supply....

                Bench test a series X
                by Eniaro
How do you bench test a series X? I was planning to find a defective PSU to use its connector, but before I go about doing this, I was wondering if there's any bench PSU to the series X connector adapter available

Kenwood KR-6030 vintage stereo ,Old Man Trying to Save a Buck
                by DrDos
Hello all. I'll try to keep this short. I have no knowledge of electronics. I can use a multimeter and am familiar with caps to some extent. I bought a Kenwood KR-6030 vintage stereo. It need work and so I thought I would recap the thing since I get power to the on switch but nothing else is working. No lights, no sound and so forth. I went to Mouser to order caps and I find I am way over my head. I not only do not know the type of capacitors I need but Mouser and digikey do not accept Kenwood part numbers. I have the info such as 220uF 63v and such but no place to put it. I could buy a recap...
