Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 Front Panel Lights Not Lighting Up

Hello and How are you guys? Completely forgot I signed up this 4 years ago and now it has come to major use.

So I pulled out of the attic a Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 5.1 surround sound system for my PC. Before I turned it on, I disassembled it and cleaned all the dust and debris. Plugged all the connections and the unit lit up like a christmas tree and tested the sound with original sound testing software that came with it.

It was working fine for a week since I pulled it out of the attic. Now, the front panel lights do not lit and when the unit is powered off, there is a red power light that stays lit. That light doesn't turn on anymore. I have unplugged from the amplifier and replugged, but did not do anything. I unplugged the power brick, but that did not do anything. So I plugged back the speakers and ran a sound test and the amazingly the speakers work fine. However, since I connected it via digital din to mini jack, I need to configure the unit, but because the lights do not work, I can't tell what mode it's on.

I did a search on Google and a didn't find anything related to what I am experiencing, but people replaced 3 caps near the sound chip under the metal heatsink and their problems appeared to go away.

I took it apart and desoldered the metal heatsink that covers this digital sound chip. I found those caps, but they appeared to be in good condition.

I checked the front panel lights, and there is a ribbon cable that attaches to the main board, that cable seems to be fine and not ripped. Also, there is a small cap on the front panel light board. I'm guessing that cap could be the culprit? The front buttons seem to work, just the lights don't come on.

I will update the post with plenty of pictures. I want to fix this, because I am one those guys who have a passion in fixing electronics and never would like to throw it away thinking its junk. I fixed my xbox 360 laser issue and was very happy with the results. I want to find the problem and find the solution to it.

    Thanks guys.

Are the lights getting any voltage? I fixed a cheapo clock radio before which had burnt out backlight bulbs. (yes, incandescent bulbs, not LED! )

Hi everyone, I found the same unit on Ebay and bought it since it had the five speakers, stands, correct wires that came with it and box. It looks brand new condition.

However, I will get pictures soon for the broken unit and maybe get it working.

Will keep you guys updated soon.

        Thanks

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
          by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

          Does...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
          by LEECH666
          Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Cambridge Audio Stream Magic 6 - Power Supply
          by smurtz
I have here a Cambbridge Audio Stream Magic 6 which does not power on.
When opening the case the PSU appears to be faulty:

IC1 (ICE3BR0665J), D2, the rectifier bridge, C15,C16 are dead and T2 is fried:

I found the schematics of the PSU in the cambridge Audio CXN Service guide which uses the same:
My problem is that I cannot find any info on T2 (SG01323) which seems to be a choke. Anyone knows how I can find a replacement & the value of that choke ?

          Thanks very much in advance...
