Darkvoice 332 tube amp no sound

I plugged the amp in, turned it on and took a millimeter up to it and saw that im not getting anything from that resistor.


It looks like the now white resistors were once gray but had gotten so hot it they baked (On the center cap the black film that they put over it that shows the cap rating has peeled off a little and you can see the metal casing.)

Would this resistor be a suitable replacement?

Not sure if they are bleeding resistors or part of the Phi filter, are the resistors connected with one leg to the positive leg of the Black DC filter cap and another leg is connected to the Negative leg of the cap. Do you know if it is 33,000 Ohms resistor? We can calculate the wattage the resistor is dissipating if we know the voltage and the resistance value. If it is for Phi filter, then it will not be 33K, it will be a lot lower like 330 Ohm or 33 Ohms depends on the the circuits current draw and the size of the DC filter caps. Need to find the service manual for it. It looks more like dual phi filter setup.

The resistors are soldered onto the + ends of the caps and on the far right end there is a rod thats linked to that square box and bolted onto the frame.

The company that makes the amp is based in china and i havent had much luck finding a manual or even info on the resistors other then what i posted


I found a pic of someone elses darkvoice 332 amp with the writing still on the resistors

OK, they are dropping resistors setting in 2 stages Phi filter, they are 220 Ohms 10 Watts wire wound resistor.

Yes, but you should measure the Length and Diameter of the old resistor to be sure you will have enough room for the new resistors. After you replace them, I would like to find out what the voltages across each of these resistors are so I can calculate the power dissipation and see if they use under rating resistors, the Chinese may have designed using just enough to get by.
