    Vizio VSB 200 Sound Bar

I have a Vizio SV420XVt Television with a Vizio VSB 200 Sound Bar..
The TV is connected to Directv Satellite.

My question is: With the sound bar connected to the TV it seems the audio setting on the TV have no effect on the sound...

I have the TV speakers OFF but when I turn them on the sound adjustments work on the TV speakers only...

I only wish to use the sound bar without the TV speakers.

What is the best way, if any, to connect the sound bar so I can adjust the sound qualities?

    Thanks..

Are you using the analog inputs? If so, you may want to look whether your TV has sound adjustments for the headphone out. If it does, use a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable to connect the TV to the sound bar via the headphone output, and you get the adjustments as well.

      I don't have a head phone jack.
I am using the RGB connectors now but also have a SPDIF digital cable that I can connect but I think I had it connected once before and I couldn't control the sound, like bass, treble etc...

With SPDIF you won't be able to control the sound anyway because it's a direct digital stream. If you don't have a headphone jack on the TV then you're outta luck, sorry.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
            by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio E420VA 5v drops to 3v when power cable is connected
            by SeaglassPearl
Folks, I have a Vizio flat screen that doesn't show any signs of life (and no orange vizio glow either).

I tested the voltages from the power board (at the connector) and I can see the 5V supply drops to 3V after the power cable is connected to the main board (5V supply reads as 5V when cable is disconnected from main board). All other rails (12V and 24V) are reading fine.

I looked for the usual bloated caps and saw none on either board and no other tell-tall signs (black marks, burned components, etc) on either side of both boards.

            Given the 5V rail...
