Just had a look at a vacuum ,that was dead as a Dodo ,inside the motor is a module ,which has a triac (?) and another item (thermal cut out or fuse?).
One of the two legs had broken off ,soldering a wire to this and refitting it cured the fault.
The mains cord rewinder is a different matter ,the is a difficult problem with a large clock spring, have put it aside for a couple of days ,then I will try again to fix it!

those cord winders are a menace, they damage the cable.
last time one failed on me, i just fitted a power inlet from a pc psu and used a removeable cable.

If there'll be no chance on fixing it, might as well replace it with a new one. In http://*************/ you can select different kinds of vacuum cleaner especially vacuum cleaners good for cleaning dirt from cats and dogs. Just my 2 cents.

That is a very poor FAKE review website. It is used to collect (steal) e-mail adresses by the way. I know, I just supposedly sent a message to them using a fake e-mail adress that I made up and they accepted it.
Better luck next time because I am not falling for it!

I do not like it because it gives no mailing address or a email address or phone number I find these to be possible fake as well
