    Egg incubator humidity sensor replacement

    Hello everyone,

My egg incubator humidity sensor kicked the bucket, I read open circuit on it with DMM even in the MOhm range.

So I started identifying this piece of crap and look for a replacement part.

This thing has 6 turns or black lines, while the one I found similar has more turns and has 33kOhm.
Based on the number of black lines, this one looks like the 23kOhm version of this thing, but I cannot find anything with this value on the local distributors.

I assume the 33kOhm wont work?
    What do you guys recommend?

if the other one has more turns, then shorten it!?

It's a humidity sensor, it measures humidity (moisture) between the conductors, when there is moisture on it it will measure impedance at the operating frequency, this parti s unlikely the problem

However I cannot measure any resistance on it, my DMM measure open circuit on it.
I will check the surrounding circuitry on the main board, just in case.

No you can't measure resistance with your DMM on that, It just will s how open circuit. As long as that thing is in one piece, no cracks and the wires have continuity to it, that type of sensor or actually more like an antenna is fine. I'd be more concerned if there is a short or a reading on it.
