we have been trying to get this iron to work, but the problem is that the relay clicks and then the no water sign flashes.
the micro controller is pic16f1933.
all other parts like water pump , boiler, solenoid ect are working.

it seems that the 6th pin on the pic chip had 36 ohm resistance to ground, after replacing the chip, the iron started to function again. how did this happen?Attached FilesComment

there is a similar problem with the same model. is there a way to trick the pic chip into thinking there is water in the iron? since i dont have programming software, what other solution is there?Comment

this steam generator doesn't have a water sensor.
boiler gets hot
water pump activates
then it switches on a relay which causes the "no water" led to flash even when there is water . i am assuming it is a programming issue.Comment

If you bought a whole board, why didn’t you replace the whole board rather than the chip? I suppose you wanted to know if the chip is the problem?Comment

because the lady wanted 16 quid with the wires and 9 quid without,Comment

managed to trick the pic chip and confirmed that the board is working. the problem is either the ntc in the hand set or the boiler.this means i wasted 9 quid for no reason, there was no problem with the original pic chip.Comment

I got lucky that when I got home and was about to get some ice out of the ice dispenser I hear and see water running down the outside of the ice dispenser what the heck is going on here
At first I thought that the ice dispenser mold was cracked so I brought a new ice maker because this one has been in there for about 10 years now
Well I put the new one in and wait and I wait for the water valve to open and let water in no such luck well there is a way to check the function of the motor and the water valve on this ice maker just need a jumper wire “L” to... -

Hi,
I am trying to save a donor steam iron with no power supply.
Dismantled and initial visual check on the power supply PCB - there is no fuse anywhere, and resistor is quite obviously burnt. Can't really read to color code, guessing it could be 100ohm (brown, black, brown, gold) or 180ohm (brown, grey, brown, gold).
Replaced the burnt resistor with a trial 5W 100ohm resistor for quick test, power on, and it immediately blown a 100nF 50V capacitor nearby.
Suspect a short circuit somewhere, I try to checked a few more obvious components before seeking... -

I have a soldering station, 862D+, and every time the hot air gun is on, even if it is just cooling off, the soldering iron controller stops controlling. Let me explain what has happened so far, as it took a while to get to this.
First, the switch that turns on the hot air gun started to fail, the light came on, but temp never rose, I would have to switch it multiple time to get the gun to start heating, this was due to the contact inside being carbonized. I opened the switch up, clean the contacts, and it would work fin for a while until carbonized again. So, I ordered a switch... -
