    Microwave Whirpool error message

    Hello,

I have a Whirpool microwave GH6208XRQ-0. The microwave is not heating. I changed the magnetron and it still have the same problem. The display gives me the message: "Error F7HVSMPS Feedback".

If anyone could help me fix this problem or advice what to check that might be not working, I would appreciate it.

    Thank you,

    Felix

    Re: Microwave Whirpool error message

This is one of those new fancy microwaves that uses an inverter which supplies the magnetron with it's high voltage instead of a simple 60 hz step up transformer.

Which has been used in microwaves since their inception but surprisingly manufacturers deem them too reliable so they develop this inverter design. They do it under the guise of energy efficiency and more even heating. When in reality they're just trying to cut costs on the copper to wind the heavy 60 hz transformers.

I checked the parts lists and the issue with your unit is probably in the inverter assembly. Start by checking the rectifier diode on the inverter board for the magnetron. It will be a black square component with two leads somewhere near the inverter transformer.

Use the diode check of a DMM you should only read a voltage drop in one direction.

You don't replace a magnetron unless it has failed. They like to go open filament. Short from filament to cathode. Short from cathode to body or from filament to body. This can all be checked with the resistance function of a DMM shotgunning parts is never a good idea and gets expensive quick.

I haven't had to repair one of these "fancy" beats yet. But I have a pretty good idea about their operation.

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

What's with that gentleman on TV advertising his microwave cookware which is made out of METAL but doesn't zap the microwave?

T490 error message 2203 Skip acknowledgement of an error message
        by rumpumpel1
I have a T490 that displays the error message “2203: System configuration is invalid” immediately after the Lenovo logo every time it boots up.
This message must be acknowledged with 'Esc'. On the one hand, I cannot eliminate the problem, on the other hand, I have not observed any other restrictions.
Is it possible to change the BIOS so that this message no longer has to be acknowledged?

Monitor Interlook switch on a microwave
        by papillon
I *was* trying to determine the cause of a failure in a microwave oven.
The unit is a Frigidaire Gallery model CGMV175QFA.
For future reference, the exploded view for this specific model is available here.
The last page of that document also has the electrical diagram which I am attaching to this message as well.

The unit had a blown fuse when I opened it. I tested each component individually (magnetron, relays, tracsformers, etc) and all appeared to be working fine (no shorts) but the fuse kept blowing.
Eventually, I looked at the electrical diagram...

Toshiba EM131A5C-BS microwave oven- noisy EE16 2.7 mH inductor
        by valvashon
This poor microwave oven was purchased by my former employer in 2019 (it's a 7/2018 build) and lasted for about 3 months before making a terrible noise when in use. I determined that it was the main transformer and contacted Toshiba. They asked for a picture of the cord cut in half and the serial number, and then credited my boss' credit card. Rather than sending it to the e-waste, I bought a transformer on eBay and thought I'd try flipping it. Discovered that used microwave ovens aren't worth much but in for a penny, in for a pound as they say. It sat in my basement getting kicked and shoved...

Does the Oak OTI067 have a splash screen / initialization message at bootup?
        by Scruit
tl;dr ... Question: Does the Oak OTI067 have a splash screen / initialization message at bootup?

        More detail:

Working on "Uncle Sherman", my Mitsubishi MP-3200 386 from 1988. Before I start up old computers I have a process where I disassemble, test for shorts, visually inspect, capture EPROM images etc.

My T866II+ give me a "pins not detected" error on the EPROM from the Oak-based (OTI067 GPU but apparently a no-name card??) I assumed the EPROM was bad, ordered a replacement and figured I'd program a downloaded ROM image to it....

        Hi

Can anyone tell me the difference between MD-801FMR-1 / MD-801FTR-1 and MD-801EMR-1 microwave HV transformers?

All I can see is they are all 800W but wondered if they are inter changeable...
