more questions on replacemnts,, nec 1550m..

I was considering tying this to one of the erlier psts from today for replacments but i was not sure on polices so im starting a new line,

ok here it is i need to know if it would be ok to replace the 180uF, 30v. evl caps on the inverter board in a nec 1550m with 220uF 35~40v or would that be pushing the tolerances on the farad/ volt limits,, i dont want to fry something in line and i have more then one bad cap,, the unit works fine but im getting some blue hue to the screen .. and im am sure the caps are not helping. I cant seem to find the 180's locally, I was considering a series solution with a 100 and an 80 if i can find it but not entierly sure on how to wire that, any input would be great, i know i can get away with the voltage differance,, just leary on the the uF ratings and im not super savy at electronics i can identify and replace , but i dont tend to stray from identical ratings.. thank you in advnace for your time.

    First of all, welcome.

Second, capacitors in series divides capacitance. To add the 100 to 80 you would need to parallel them. I dont think you should do this even though it is only about a 20% drop in total capacitance.

If you are not pressed for time, take the time to see if you can buy those caps here from this site. If not, then look elsewhere, digikey, local electronics parts store can order maybe ...etc. You will find what you need without having to compromise. ~spell check maybe. lol

Take pictures of the board in question and post them as attatchments in your next post. Have fun with it and take your time.

i'd go ahead and put 35V 220uF caps in there.
maybe even 25V 220uF (if you can measure the actual voltage going through that cap and its lower than 25V)

increasing the capacitance a bit usually doesn't hurt.. just dont overdo it..

Re: more questions on replacemnts,, nec 1550m..

Thanks for the greetings and hello.

,, and no i can not measure the voltage at least not this time, a micro meter , ohms meter passive read or the likes has been high on my list, but when i see them i always think maybe later,, so for this situation I'm going to the default that "" most " manufactures use the cheapest solution and 30 v is the tolerance, just not real comfortable going with an increase of +- 80uf .
which is the end result if i go up from the 180uF to 220uF. i have check locally and i am hopeing to get one on order but if the end result is i ""need "" to use a 220 or i think i can get a 200 then i would feel better in the knowledge that the variance would not kill the circuit. I will take your advice and look over the list of sources on this site, also.
        Thank you again

not a great pic but the labeled caps both have visible failure IE bulged seeping.

            Understanding capacitor ratings
            by Byte_76
Hi, I have some capacitors that I need to replace on a graphics card.

            I've attached pictures for reference.

Please help me to understand the ratings so that I can order the correct replacements:

            1. G7 560 2.5E - I believe these are for vcore
            • Is this 560uF and 2.5V?
            • What does the "E" mean?
            • Is there any relevance to the "G7"

            2. ECX 17 560 2.5V - I believe these are on the memory phase
            • Another 560uF at 2.5V?
            • This is on the same graphics card. If the caps are rated the same as those above, why are they a different type?

Questions About USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and USB4 Designs: Type-A vs Type-C, MUX Requirem
            by electronx
            Hi everyone,

I’m currently learning about the USB protocol and designing a project, but I’ve encountered a few questions that I couldn’t find clear answers to. I’d really appreciate your input!

            1. USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 with SuperSpeed Type-A Connector
According to the USB 3.2 specification, it states that USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 can support a SuperSpeed Type-A connector. This raises a question:

If we use a SuperSpeed Type-A connector, the system would only utilize 1 lane for data transfer, leaving 1 lane from the host unused. Is this configuration valid,...

Need Help Identifying Parts on a crossover and a few other newbie questions
            by UL161
Hi I am trying to refurbish this crossover with some higher quality poly-caps/parts... The speaker is a in-wall Polk 65-RT... Key questions I have are:

            1) What in the world is the yellow part on the board (label is MET 1.0J 100V)?... Should I even consider replacing it?
            2) The 470uF cap.... Does anyone know have a suggestion as to where I can find a reasonable audio quality polycap near that value? (or at least 3 160s or the like?) { I don't want to spend $70 just to replace this one if I can) (maybe even someone looking at this circuit could even tell if this cap is important...

            newbie questions
            by cloghin
Apologies if I am asking the wrong questions , but not sure how else to start:

I have an A2251 / 820-01949 Mac book pro with no power, 20 v on USBC meter and 0.05 Amps. Following this link ( below)

            * Do I need to remove the board from case so I can access its other side ? The link calls for measuring PP3v3_S5 ( I suppose this is in diode mode with positive probe on ground) , but I don't know how to do that without removing the board from case.
            * I have the FlexBV board , are the values displayed in volts diode mode only ? Because my etekcity multimeter shows...

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
            by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...
