Need Help Identifying Parts on a crossover and a few other newbie questions
Hi I am trying to refurbish this crossover with some higher quality poly-caps/parts... The speaker is a in-wall Polk 65-RT... Key questions I have are:
1) What in the world is the yellow part on the board (label is MET 1.0J 100V)?... Should I even consider replacing it?
2) The 470uF cap.... Does anyone know have a suggestion as to where I can find a reasonable audio quality polycap near that value? (or at least 3 160s or the like?) { I don't want to spend $70 just to replace this one if I can) (maybe even someone looking at this circuit could even tell if this cap is important...

sam_sam_sam.... Thanks for this suggestion.. I am actually thinking that the power supply board might be causing the issue to some extend too. It is actually on a separate board next to this one... (see this link on ebay... Board is basically this [URL="https://www.ebay.com/itm/125275904642?epid=9054671937&hash=item1d2b069a82:g:i3cAAOSwjcplQO4V&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4MUFH9HaAgBoEFoUJlrx6HiBggVUuLx8X9qmFpBmp50ht1YK4JFZrTdYD6H8AUBnkRdBdEzhDulnT6%2FrivwM2Xk9eBCg3JEAwY5xBlUCwzKZNDLYA3EGRJKeYzUtfC%2BCts6mjkP7xrztFyssmWUFG3tSL6rFJG2K%2FIkdTTipmt3j7nuctjs7rPRwQ%2B3H%2FNleCKmNF8E5R7pUXM0lwhWby0cC8y%2Bx7YxGM1YQA6q920dJtNNkJmlHlOy9T9pPepCpZT299IhgQb7SUovKSyo07Mv1FUujh1m%2FAhGu0ipbNjTt%7Ctkp%3ABFBMluCi5pVj"]model[/URL]....

actually agree with you. I replaced c58 + the other 3 caps... (picture is before my repair).... still having the issue..... If it were a relay... I would assume that would just be dead and unrecoverable with my power off power on trick... what do you think... I am certainly not an expert however so not positive about my statement on that point, just my understanding how the part works....Last edited by UL161; 12-13-2023, 12:35 AM.

Need help troubleshooting a Whirpool control board (it's not the caps!)
I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side refrigerator that is only a few years old and I am now experience a problem where the cooling coil valve that enters the refrigerator side is not opening consistently. (the freezer is perfect ice cold). I have found out the problem can be overcome by simply pulling the power for a few minutes. Upon restart it works for some period then randomly stops. In speaking with a tech they claim this issue is likely due to an issue on the main control board. So I decided to pull it and I thought one cap looked bad so I replaced all 4... I thought I had solved it but ~24 hours...1 Photo

Re: Sonos Connect Power Supply
I replaced the controller chip that arrived yesterday. I am back up and running!!! Thank you very much for your guidance, it saved me buying a new unit or doing a more crude workaround with using 2 separate power supplies!...

Re: Sonos Connect Power Supply
Thank you very helpful information. Would you have any idea how to track down a replacement for the 8 pin chip? Not sure what I should be looking for. Also any way to confirm that 8 pin controller is the problem?
Appreciate the guidance!

Sonos Connect Power Supply
Hi, I am trying to revive a Sonos Connect power supply (currently totally dead). No obvious damage to the eye, so I just decided to simply replaced all the Caps first. Unfortunately, that did not fix it.
Next, I'm thinking it could be one of the surface mounted chips. Particularly, one four pronged chip label says L 14 43 817 A W has no continuity (1st picture). I'm assuming this means it is bad? (But not sure.) Can anyone confirm if lack of continuity with this chip means it is bad? If so, can you suggest what this part is and what a replacement would be?? I am including pictures...
