Let us know when the chip comes in. I can't see any other parts that would give the same problems.

I've worked a few projects in GP, it's a bit north for my liking.
First snow a few days ago and record cold snap -10°C/+15°F for this time of year. Polar vortex brrr.

Re: MAX134CMH+D A/D Converter: Faulty or OK?

      Update:

Some time ago I took delivery of a new MAX134 ADC and soldered it into the Protek 506 DMM. However, the DMM is still not working correctly; the fault has merely changed in it's characteristics! I thought perhaps I may have damaged the chip by exposing it to too much heat, but, then again, it may have been a reject dud chip to begin with!

I've now taken delivery of two more MAX134, as well as a practice PCB with a practice 44pin MQFP IC, so that I can perfect the soldering technique before attempting on the DMM itself.

i would have just swapped parts with the other meter till the fault moved.

stj: a lot of components are SMD (SMT), but I may have to test/replace everything until I find the fault. I refuse to give up on this meter!

I've been trying to purchase an Evaluation Kit for the MAX134, but it is now obsolete and nobody has any in stock, that I can find. The model number is MAX134EVKIT#. The board has the MAX134 on it, a microcontroller with software and a LCD. It would be a good tool to get to understand the basics of a DMM.

            i know it's SMD,
i'm doing some smd work as i type - hot air is not expensive

              Repair help. Zotac trinity 4070ti 12G 3x
              by Thetechdude
              Hi Guys.
Here I have a 4070ti with some issues.
When powered on the led lights which power on (where the zotac logo is) flash green 3 times. Once it has flashed green 3 times it does not post.

Just to mention I have not worked on many 40x cards before therefore some of my assumptions could be wrong. If you do happen to find that my analysis is wrong or I have missed something feel free to comment.
Additionally, I do not have a schematic for this exact card model so if anyone is willing to post the schematic it would be much appreciated.

              Protek 506 DMM Problem/Fault
              by Krisby
              Hello badcaps.net Forum People,

I have a Protek 506 DMM which has a problem with the Diode Test Function and with the 4V range of the Voltage Measuring Function. I have posted this on three other forums, but have not been able to find out the source of the problem.

It seems that the Diode Test problem is linked with the 4V range Voltage Measuring problem, so I shall just focus on the 4VDC range to simplify things.

When I select the DC voltage function on the rotary switch of this DMM, the display alternates between showing 3.999V and 0V. If I test a...

Where to find a very small fpc connector 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
              by corrize
Hello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?

Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?
