Hi Guys.
Here I have a 4070ti with some issues.
When powered on the led lights which power on (where the zotac logo is) flash green 3 times. Once it has flashed green 3 times it does not post.
Just to mention I have not worked on many 40x cards before therefore some of my assumptions could be wrong. If you do happen to find that my analysis is wrong or I have missed something feel free to comment.
Additionally, I do not have a schematic for this exact card model so if anyone is willing to post the schematic it would be much appreciated.
Resistances:
Ext 12v = ~6-7kohm
PCIe 12v = 30kohm
5v led = 1kohm
5v = 1.4kohm
3.3v = 91kohm
1.8v = 0.5kohm
PEX = 28ohm
Vmem = ~350ohm
From resistances PEX and Vmem seem quite high however nothing would indicate as being shorted.
After powering the card on the card begins it's power sequence and the core even warms up.
Voltage measurements:
Ext 12v present
PCIe 12v present
5v led present
5v present
1.8v = 1.202v (not sure if this is normal as 30x and below cards run at 1.8v)
Vcore = 0.7v
Vmem = ~ 1.2v
PEX = ~0.97v
After about 5 Seconds of the card being turned on the card loses PEX, Vcore and Vmem and the core starts to cool down.
When probing the 1.8v coil it starts to read 1.197v. (5v and 12v are present as normal)
Based on this I suspect that the 1.8v buck converter is faulty.
Checking for EN, VCC, and PGOOD signal reveals that they are all present even after the output dips to under 1.2v.
En and PGOOD ~ 3.3v and VCC = 5v
Would I be correct here in assuming the 1.8v/1.2v gs9221 buck converter is the faulty component or are there any other tests I can do on the other pins of the buck converter or the other resistors connected to the buck converter.
I have also attached a picture of the resistances and a close up of the buck converter.
Any help is much appreciated.
