What solder thickness/flux type do you prefer?

I read article after article in bed last night and It's still confusing on what's good, what's bad, what definitely needs cleaning afterwards, etc.

I have a spool of MG Chem 63/37 RA 2.2% and that's pretty much my go to for anything I care about. I have some cheap chinese 63/37 as well that I use when priming a joint for suction/removal or stuff I care less about.

I like .8 and .6mm thickness. Anything thinner and I feel like I'd have to feed a ton more in.

Dammit, have to feed in several feet of 0.6mm to solder my water pipes!

But really it depends on what what you're soldering. I'd like to get some 0.6mm to work on really small stuff but can't use that stuff on large solder lugs.

But for pcb work 0.8mm works good. 0.6mm for some SMT. 1.6mm for large solder lugs.

2.4mm zinc chloride "acid flux" for pipes...
