Re: HDMI cable fix help?
Isn't it easier (and more reliable) to just spend < $10 for a new cable? -
Re: HDMI cable fix help?

Re: HDMI cable fix help?
You can repair it by soldering on a new connector or using a breakout board .

Re: HDMI cable fix help?
Hi guys; i have good news , HDMI project success , i was able to connect both ends of the HDMI cable and i just used tape (no solder) just twisted both ends of each wire together,it was easy because i used same type and color HDMI cable, (not sure if all HDMI cable uses same color wire skim), this is first time i cuff off an HDMI cable end ,so keep that in mind,if all HDMI cable are not same color? don't try this unless you have tools to test each end, and it will take forever, thanks to you all that gave tips for other solutions but this was the cheapest and the faster.Last edited by ivtec; 10-01-2019, 09:46 AM.Comment

by aliougmI have problem with my AVR(Marantz SR4003) HDMI board issue. I connect to my TV but screen color distorted, see attached picture.
Connection as below:
Set-top box HDMI output >AVR 3 HDMI input/one HDMI output>HDTV HDMI port
If I bypassed AVR then HDTV screen color be good.
I take out HDMI board from AVR and check services manual the schematic shown the HDMI signals path:
3 HDMI input port > SIL9185 chip(HDMI switch) > SIL9033 chip(HDMI receiver) > SIL9030 chip(HDMI transmitter) > HDMI output port

I have this TV hooked up to only an AppleTV 4K and a Creative soundbar. Originally HDMI-CEC and HDMI-ARC wouldn't work at all, I replaced all the HDMI cables with decent UGREEN cables meeting the latest standards, now it all works perfectly but once or twice a day the TV itself reboots while watching a program, the AppleTV keeps running. I haven't fully pinned down whether it is ARC or CEC causing it yet. All are running latest firmware.
I assume it is just HDMI-CEC being buggy as usual on a shitty Vestel machine, but can anyone think of anything I can try before disabling it? -
by RatherLoopyI have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..
I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.
And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...-

by budwichI lost one of the two hdmi outputs on a yamaha rx-a1050 receiver. Of course, it is the hdmi1 which has the arc capability which was useful. The second output hdmi works OK.
I got an hdmi breakout board which gave me access to the "little guys" in the hdmi. I did some gross DC voltage measurements to ground and found that the Data1 pair (4 and 6) had a lower voltage than the working hdmi.... 1.1v versus 2.9. All others pins seem to be OK. Further when plugged into a display, there is no video but a message on the screen which I assume is the display's status for the...-
