    An ARM microcontroller.
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

^ Its what they use in those VAG-COM adapters. They use stm32 microcontrollers though, so im assuming its a chinese clone. As for the IC, IIRC, its a LPC82 clone.

good guess .. it works but i would have preferred a arm 162 or whatever . looks too small for my liking ..

              so what's the device?
interesting that the usb goes to a 28pin thing - usb>serial bridge??
tacky not to just use an mcu with usb on it.

Looks like an ELM327 OBD2 reader. SOIC-8 CAN transciever MCP2561 and Microchip CAN controller MCP2515 in TSSOP-20.

Samsung UN55NU6900F Standyby voltage is 1V higher than expected, is this a problem?
                  by tvguy12012012120
This is the zombie UN55NU6900F I wrote about in this original post.

It originally was completely dead with no standby voltage. After some poking around, I found the solder at RM819 (see pictures) failed. I removed it from the board, it tested fine, resoldered it, and now the TV works.

The expected standby voltage at the reference pin is specified to be 11.8V but it's reading 12.8V. Couple questions:

                  1. What could cause the standby voltage to be 1V higher than expected
                  2. Is this a problem
                  3. Could it have led to the failure at RM819, or was that...

Capture digital data between microcontroller and led driver
                  by orgamisho
Hello, I have a device which uses 3 7segment displays (4 digits each) controlled by a single led driver (TM1629A) which is controller by a microcontroller (MS51FB9AE).

I want to capture the communication between the 2 ICs, so I can decode it and read it from PC with USB cable.
The problem is that this task is slightly over my skills and I have no experience is such tasks.

I would be grateful if somebody give a hint how can I read and decode the digital signals or share a source where I can educate myself on this matter.
I have no idea what protocol is...

                  Need T-Con Advice (Vizio P602ui-B3)
                  by Jidis
                  Hi all,

I made a big-ass mess here of my father's beloved P602, and I'm trying to figure out if I should order a batch of overpriced ribbons or if I'd just be throwing more good money at the bad.

He woke up recently to a bunch of white bars going down the right side of the screen. From what I'd seen in these places, I figured the T-con board has gone out or has a bad connection. I took the back off and gently poked at the socketed ribbons and sure enough, got the image back. It was mainly the far left ribbon, and it would snap back to stripes if I let off the pressure....

Vizio E701i-A3 fixed but now has red vertical line
                  by otaku_nut
Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...
