Never stop learning series : Tungsten and resistance

In this video did get me. First it look like a magic to me, then I recall that is cause by the Resistance. How about you guys?

The name "tungsten" (from the Swedish tung sten, "heavy stone")

For a 60-watt 120-volt lamp, the uncoiled length of the tungsten filament is usually 22.8 inches (580*mm), and the filament diameter is 0.0018 inches (0.046*mm).

The cold resistance of tungsten-filament lamps is about 1/15 the hot-filament resistance when the lamp is operating

Carbon filament bulbs have the opposite characteristic. The resistance of a carbon filament is higher when it is cold than when it is operating.

No1 producer of Tungsten is China.

Tungsten is the metal with the highest melting point, 3,695*K (6,191*°F)

GTX 1080 TI Gigabyte Aorus low resistance on vmem
    by cind12
Hi guys, i was wondering, i've got 9Ohms on Vmem, one of the mosfet was shortet to ground, so i've desoldered hi and low mosfets nad still low res, then i removed all of the memory chips, and the resistance is still low, so did you had maybe a card with that low res on memories, and the card was working fine ?
Removed the U1866Q and still without result, i dont have thermal cam so can't see where is hot spot when incjeting voltage.
The resistance on core is ok 0.1Ohm ((Power 0.8V when on)
Resistance on 12V 4K ohms (Power present when on)
Resistance on 12V PEX 4K ohms...

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
    by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Seven Leagues Slot Machine stop button issues
    by x_orange90_x
I don't know if anyone here has experience with Japanese slot (pachislo) machines, but I sure hope so. I bought this machine last week in semi-working order. It would play and the reels would spin, but the stop buttons would not stop them at all. I found that the high-frequency filtering tantalum capacitor was bad on the reel stop board, along with the fuse being blown. I replaced the fuse and removed the capacitor. I haven't replaced the cap yet because I didn't have one on hand, but it's not necessary for the operation of the machine.

The issue now is the Stop buttons are intermittently...

Acer Aspire E5-574G - Not Powering On
    by novice1
    Laptop name Acer Aspire E5-574G. Processor = i7-6500u. GPU = NVIDIA GEFORCE 940M. Motherboard Model = DA0ZRWMB6G0

This laptop was not powering on at all so I started investigating. The blue light would come on for a second, and then disappear. Fan would sometimes turn on for a second and then shut off immediately, and at other times would not turn on at all.

To start with, about 3 months ago I had no clue about soldering, motherboard schematics, board view, and then I stumbled about this forum and other stuff online. I have never done any of those before. But to ask...

What is the lowest acceptable resistance on a coil without considering a short on PCB
    by Jane
I have Asus FA506 ( board DA0BKXMB8D0 Rev: D). Can you please roughly indicate what the lowest resistance I should measure on a coil? I know that a low resistance is allowed on coils in CPU or graphic circuits but can you provide acceptable values of resistance?
    Thank you.
