    Help needed with ribbon ZIFs (metal frames)

    Hi,

    I am familiar with ZIF plastic flip-up tabs but these are metal and not so obvious to me. How do I open these?

      Hi,
      You just need to flip open the brown colored viewing it from top,use fine flat tweezers to flip open & do it cautiously do not apply more pressure as you might end up break the connector tab/lock.

      You could also use a good magnifier to understand how this could open,it's only mechanical.

          T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

          Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

          The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

          Original T-con:
          Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

          First replacement T-con:

          I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

          Problem

          This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

          Someone brought me a liquid metal damaged motherboard.
          First I have removed alll liquid metal from the board.
          0,75V_ALW was burned, and had to be removed and I have separated the layers until no short was on the VIN (B+) line and the output is no longer shorted.
          Applying 0,77V on the output with my lab PSU make the laptop caming on and i running windows from USB drive SSD
          There are 2 things that not working.
          1. The WIFI card keeps turning off and on with an error code 43 and 10 abouth every 10 seconds
          2. nvme devices are not detected on either of the 2 slots....

          How to clean Liquid Metal from under CPU?

          Hi all, Im working on a board, that my customer brought to another shop, and smeared liquid metal all over the board.
          The laptop powers on, then shuts off. I noticed traces of Liquid Metal near the edge of the CPU, but I fear some maybe underneath.

          Has anyone ever tried Ultrasonic cleaning, or compressed air to remove or agitate the liquid metal?

          Hello,
          I have a XPS 9520 with broken daughter board and missing ribbon cable. I can fix the board by replacing the connector, but I can't find the correct ribbon.

          There is 2 models, idk which one is needed on my laptop.

          0xkvng
          00vpr2

          Daughter board is LS H822P. When I check for a palmrest, the board attached to have a 0xkvng ribbon. But when I check for LS h822p, it's 00vpr2 ribbon...

          Someone can help me with that please ? Idk the difference between these 2 ribbon but they definitely doesn't look the same..
